Question Wanted: suggestions for a catback exhuast...

Does anyone have a catback system that they would suggest for a 99' lightning? I'm looking for a system that has a nicely tuned sound but not to crazy loud. A little louder than the stock would be just fine.

Call Mufflex in Trenton NJ ask for Denny. He does two Flowmasters on Lightnings and they sound great. Get the two chamber.

I will second that motion. Mufflex is where I am going for my cat back exhaust. But first I have a few mods to take care of. Have heard some great things about Denny's work. later 95rcobra.

Gary:

Let me know if you are around Bowling Green anytime. I would love to hear your setup before I purchase. I haven't heard of anything on L's except straight pipes, and I want to before I spend any money.

Thanks,
Justin

Does anyone have the 3 chamber Mufflex system? Call me a girl, but I like anything I drive, be it race car ot street car, to be quiet inside with a good deep tone that still talks when you open it up. I'd like to hear from someone with the 3 chamber setup, if you're out there.
Thanks!

I put a Borla catback on my '99 last spring and am very happy with it. The polished stainless tips look great and are very easy to clean, and the sound is classic Borla.

It was an easy install too. Took about 30 minutes in my driveway, and did not even require a jack. The old system and the Borla both slid under the frame with room to spare, although I used an old blanket to slid the Borla system on to keep from scratching it.

I have the Borla on my truck and I also love it. Nice sound at idle and it opens up nicely at WOT. A bit of a blatting sound but apparantly that was due to the initial design purpose. It's not a flaw. Again, this is a personal taste kind of thing. I felt a small SOTP difference with it, especially at the top end of the spectrum.

Cool

I have the Bassani cat back and the sound is great. Not to loud but just mellow. Don't like it too loud myself. Bassani Headers made it sound a little deeper but still not too loud. Steve

I have the 3 chamber system from mufflex thats why I said I would go with the two chamber one. It's louder but only about as loud as a gt with flowmasters it could be louder. Scott
