NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE READ--IMPORTANT
Please read, I am asking for your help.
What started as a group-buy for mats for the Lightning has transformed into an exciting event. The amount of orders received lowered the cost of the mats which produced a $10.00 refund to everyone that had ordered.
At first, I was asked to keep the refund as a token of their thanks for all the trouble of the group-buy. As I receiving more e-mails telling me to keep the re-fund, Doug Boss also e-mailed a note:
I then received a note from Wayne Marecle (PFA F150OnLine) and his wife, Wendy. Like Doug, they also have a special interest in the Foundation. Their 13 year-old daughter has had diabetes for the last 6 1/2 years. Both Wayne and his wife do an annual walk-athon for the JDF which starts this year on September 17th. Because of the generosity of the people of the mat-group-buy, I will make out a check for the re-funds from those who have e-mailed me their approval and turn it over to Wayne to present it to the JDF in the name of F150OnLine. So far we are over $300.00.

WHY I HAVE STARTED THIS THREAD
IS TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT IS NOW STARTING TO HAPPEN
I am getting e-mails from people that did not join the mat-group-buy asking for my address because they would also like to participate in the F150OnLine-group-contribution.
Now I’m asking for your help. Let’s make this a big event and if everyone on F150OnLine sends in $5, $10, $15 or ?????, this could end up doing something really important. Maybe you can considered your contribution a "mod" added to your life.
If you would like to join us, make your contribution out to Juvenile Diabetes Fund and mail your check to me and it will go in with the group check in the name of F150OnLine. E-mail me that you are helping so that I can keep everyone informed as to where we are.
Thanks

Jim
I would prefer you either keep the money for your trouble or make a contribution to a charity.
The Juvenile Diabetes association is one that means something to me. But
it is your call......
It would be kinda cool if F150 online folks could make a sizeable contribution to some charity out of this ..... ($100 is sizeable to a charity )
Thanks

WOW!
I guess first I would like to thank Doug for coming up with an awesome idea! And second, Jim for going ahead and making the contribution that could have been his own for all of his hard work going into our group buy! And third, thanks to all of you for your contributions. Your contribution is tax deductible.
This is our 7th year doing the JDF walk. Last year we had a team of 13 people. The entire AnnArbor, MI walk raised over $300,000. If anybody in the area is interested in joining our team for this years walk, Sept. 17, please contact us at wmarecle@aol.com. We need to have walkers registered by Aug. 31. The walk will take place at Domino's Farms in AnnArbor.
Again, THANK YOU everyone.

Exciting news.
I hope that I am not saying any thing out-of-place, because some like their contributions kept secret. I understand that but I wanted to let everyone know that I have just received a note from F150OnLine and the Board itself will be sending a nice contribution to the JDF.
Thanks, F150OnLine

I'M IN ON THIS, I will be sending you something next week. You know I've always said, HOT RODDERS and Bikers have to biggest hearts. They will do for or give to a stranger in times of need.

Hey, Everyone
I have just received an e-mail that almost knocked me off my chair. A gentleman/company, who has been interested in this charity for years, has just notified me that they will match our contributions to the JDF up to $1,000.00.
This is a most amazing offer. We need your help to make this all happen.

A quick note to all:
Jim and I have been going back and forth by email on this and before any misunderstanding takes place, please let me clear up a couple of things.
I am happy to contribute to this worthy cause, as well as lend the F-150 Online name to the contribution, but I am also about doing it in an appropriate manner.
For instance, I deleted over twenty threads with the subject "IMPORTANT" that pointed back to this thread after receiving several SPAM complaints. Likely the complainants never even read the message, but that is exactly the point that I will get to later.
Secondly, an email is circulating around with the subject "F150OnLine needs your help." While certainly not the intent, the subject of this email is deceptive and not the appropriate way to garner support. The reality is that the Juvenile Diabetes Fund needs our help, not this site.
As such a large group of passionate and caring individuals we can certainly do some good for this fine organization. I am proud to offer this "platform" for your communication and organization, but I want to be certain that we do it in a productive and honest manner, without upsetting anyone.

You are correct. I should not have used the heading "F150OnLine Needs Your Help" It was just a incorrect usage of words through the excitement of what has started happening.
Sorry

Yes, I did get over zealous. When I received e-mails from F150OnLine, a company, and members donating money to a great cause, I did go a little crazy.
As of now, I don't know where we really stand. I going to have to have the dust settle then try to figure out what is coming in for the JDF. My guess is that it could be around $450.00 which would make our total so far about $900.00 with the matching funds.

Thanks to all for the donation. My son was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago. He is doing well, but eating the right things on a regular schedule is tough for a 13 year old.

I would also like to add that we are making a team shirt and would like to add on the F150Online logo. I am sending Steve (WM) a note on this to ask permission to use the logo.
Thanks again
Thanks again
Hey Jim,
I'm in a hotel room in Tokyo Japan right now reading this thread about F150 Online/JDF
At this point everybody probably knows somebody with some degree of Diabetes. In my case my aging father has had to be monitored and medicated for this problem and I have an employee that has had it since childhood and must balance his food/blood sugar levels almost every hour. I have had to take him to the Hospital once when he went to long without food. I now know allot more about this terrible disease and how it effects "Our" lives.
Jim, I really don't care about floor mats... but I would be happy to donate $100.00 to JDF
I'll be back in the states on Thursday. Please e-mail me the address and who the check is to be made out to, and I'll mail it when I get back.

JDF thanks you. I am in awe with the response that I have been receiving from people like you. The people on this Board are really something.
As I have stated, when the dust finally settles, and all the donations are in, I will give an accounting to all.
Thank you, GP KART
