Someone called me and gave me some exciting news which at this time I can not say but it was in regards to the JDF donations that a lot of you have been giving.

I will get back to everyone what the news is and how the donations are coming along.

Once again and for the last time, if you have been considering being a part of the F150OnLine Board Members donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Fund by sending in $5 or $10, or ???, make the check out to the JDF and send it to me and I will mail it along with all the other checks to a most thankful, grateful and appreciative organization, the Juvenile Diabetes Fund.

You guys really choke me up.

I've been a Type I diabetic for 22 of my 25 years, and any help in advancing the technology to 'cure' this disease is deeply appreciated.

I've utilized much of the available technology, and if any of you have questions, please drop me a line.

Take this link with a grain of salt, if you'd like to read a short diary about my experience(s) with diabetes.

Bob

Just received your donation. I thank you and the JDF thanks you.

For you info: when we started this, we were hoping to reach $300.00. I think you will surprised what the actual $$$$ will be. I hope by the this week end, I'll have a pretty good idea what the actual dollar amount that the F150OnLine members will be donating to JDF

My dad is losing his feet and his life due to diabetes. It is slowly killing him because it was not caught in time. This is something great and very special that you are all doing. Where do we send money? Oops I just finished reading the whole thing. I guess I jumped the gun, I'll see if my poor a$$ has enough to spare

Sorry Bob. It was another Bob.

George (Alphadoggy), Glen (SuperChicken) and Allan (adp), I thank you very much.

This weekend, I'll have an idea how much F150OnLine will be donating to the JDF and I'll post so that you'll know.

The response so far from the F150OnLine Lightning Members, has been amazing. So much so, that Monday I'll be contacting SVT to see if they would like to participate.

No Way, you say. If you have seen the response that I see, you might think that there is a higher power in this and if so, let that power work.

If anyone wants to help, send a check for ????. Please do. E-mail me and let me know that your are, so that I can keep track.

Thanks

Make your check out to:

The Charities name is
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International (JDF)

You can get more info at www.jdf.org

Here is a blurb about them from thier site:

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International (JDF) was founded in 1970 by parents of children with diabetes. Their mission: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. JDF is organized on a business-world model, a focus that enables the organization to provide at least 80 cents of every dollar raised to research and education about research. JDF’s commitment to its mission totaled more than $75 million during the fiscal year ending June 2000, and that commitment has been dramatically increased to an allocation of $120 million for the fiscal year 2001. To meet the extraordinary costs of new human clinical trials, and to hasten still further the pace of research for a cure, JDF projects a commitment of $200 million per year by 2003.

JDF now provides more funds to diabetes research than any other nonprofit, nongovernmental health agency in the world. (For more information, see About JDF.)

And a Blurb about Fords Commitment to JDF http://www.jdf.org/partners/ford.html

Ford Motor Company’s involvement with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDF) began in 1983, at the Metro Detroit Chapter. Ford hosted a JDF Walk to Cure Diabetes fund-raiser at their Research & Engineering Center in Dearborn, Michigan. They continued hosting this event until 1990, when JDF merged a few small walk sites into one large local walk site at the General Motors Tech Center in Warren, Michigan.

In 1999, Ford established the first “global” walk team for JDF and raised over $760,000 worldwide for diabetes research.
