the bigger kb and the whipple 2.3 can support bigger cams
More flow work on the heads, too. Just doesn't seem like the heads can flow enough. Cams, I agree 100 percent with you. Just need some valve springs....

That means major head work and cams matched to support the race chargers.

Definatly is a truth to that. Last night I was checking out the patriot heads, even their stage 3 head flows 226 cFM, granted their might be other shops out there that can beat that, but by how much? That is definatly poor, especially for the 5.4L

I know some folks are talking about cams, but what you really need to understand is that even with cams, the head still only flows more or less 226cfm through the intake side with a stage 3 port. Cams definatly help, and on these heads the gains will be major, but port work shouldnt be overlooked.

DOHC engine is flowing over 300 per port. Makes sense why people are doing the swap. Im wondering if the GT500 top end would be a better alternative. Not only do you get better flowing heads, but a blower/intake that mates to it as well.

If some company like Eldebrock or AFR would come out with some aftermarket SOHC heads, they might be very comparable to the fully ported DOHC heads, and even be ported more.
