i have 3 chips. one in the truck. one in the mail. one being updated. "at all times". it's a steady stream of metric sockets and ups deliverypersons. so if anyone wants to know which one is best, it's the one in my truck, right before the ups guy gets there.

Hi Wireman,

This is certainly an area of hot debate!

As the National Distributor of Superchips, we have provided more chips for Lightnings than any other company in the US, by a wide margin. This is partly due to the quality of the Superchip programming, and partly due to our customer service.

Of course we're "supposed" to defend Superchips I suppose, , but in all reality, if another company made a better product, that is what we'd be marketing, as all we care about is the quality of the programming, and what it does to and for the vehicle.

I also wanted to point out that drag-strip testing is only 1 measure of a program's quality, and is not singularly decisive factor in most people's minds, though of course nobody wants to go slower, that goes without saying. One very important point here is the wide amount of variance in the *stock* power output levels of these Lightnings, and establishing accurate baselines each time at the track, which almost nobody does when they run. Few people want to take the time to establish a baseline each time they run, so they can see jsut what the chip is actually doing each time they go out, depending on what's happening that particular day (or night) at each track.

We here at Performance help Superchips to determine which programs are developed for these Lightnings, from working very closely with large numbers of Lightning owners all across the country.

Ultimately, you have to m,ake your own decision, based on what you feel are the most important criteria to you.

Best of luck with your Lightning, and we hope you enjoy whatever product you decide upon!

While part of the post above is 'general' info, part is definitely "selling"!

I have a 2000 L. and I ordered a SuperChip and JohnnyLightning did the programing on it. I got 2 words 4 you "HOLY CR@P!" I don't think you could go wrong with SuperChips.

Mike and JohnnyL: Thanks for the outstanding Chip!

BBQ: good idea! I think the only thing that will be busier than my UPS man will be my poor VISA and my MOBIL gas card.

I think the best way to tell which chip is better, is for 1 person to go to te strip with each chip. each guy makes a run with his chip, then switch chips, again & again until everyone had a chance to run each chip with the same launch. The averages won't lie! I have the superchips CUX2R7 in chicago anybody with a 2000 up for the war of the chips? Lloyd

I think some trucks take differently to various chips. I've yet to see a L go faster than 13.5 at the local track (Norwalk great traction, 700ft elevation). Typical times during the heat of the day for some of the L's out there - a stock 99 14.0, my 99 w/ Superchips second program (R9, and Track1 came out later) 13.8, a 2k w/ SHM chip and pulley 13.8, a 99 w/ PSP chip and filter 13.8, a stock 2k 14.3, a stock 2k 14.0. This is just what I have seen this summer with one exception, there was a red 99 out there on a very bad day runing 13.5 @ 105 with SHM chip, pulley, and some aftermarket exhaust. I only saw it once but heard that it went 12.9 with drag radials. If I could do it, I would have mine dyno tuned. It looks like any of the chips help, but only really work great in a few trucks.
