older guy was sitting at a light, light turned green & he guns it & takes off, I was on my way to the movies with my wife. She was "is that guy tryng to race you?" I said that I thought so, well at the next light were are lined up, turns green & im gone had a 2 car lenght on him by 70. Again another light, & same results, just waisted him. Havent been in a race for a while, so it was kinda fun.

Tell me about the E55. This guy was trying to get me to race him at a stoplight and I ignored him. It wasn't until he made a quick getaway that I floored it. By this time he was 1 1/2 car lengths ahead. He stopped racing at about 45 mph and I didn't have a chance to catch. What will they run?

The Mercedes E55 is a beast that will give the Lightning a tight run, might even beat an unmodified L. Has a 5.4 liter V8 cranking 350 HP w/o a blower, touted to do 1/4 mile in the low to mid 13's...pretty pricey though, over $70K.

 

this puppy had a v8, was @ my door all the way 2 30, then fell back while I was in second gear

 

Yoda, I am sure you ran an S500, with 5 litre V8, around 300 hp. The E55 is the AMG performance version, real sleeper, with about 345 hp. and 1000 lbs. lighter. The e55 hangs with the new M5 pretty well for an automatic. P.S. had the front brakes foliated with three coats. They look great, problem is my wife wants the Lightning now.

 

what color did you put on them?? Well if you decide to buy her on ewait till the 2001 model!!!!

I raced an S600 that gave me a run for the money. I know he had mods, it was written all over his smug, overconfident face. That is until he heard my rears chirp into second and saw a black wall next to him briefly before I began to pull on him. Without mods he would've been dead even.
