This one is easy...

If you are talking about the new 2006 Z06, $10.000,00 won't be enough to beat him
Any liter class Japanese sport bike will handily out accelerate a z06.

It takes about - very fuzzy here - 170 hp to get into the 190's top speed wise, give or take...

Haul the uber-fast bike in your Lightning bed (and still be able to beat F-body GM's handily )

Screw a Z06. Be faster than an Enzo! Get a Hayabusa and Turbo-Charge it.

If they drop a blown 650HP motor into a 3300lb Vette, you'll need 25k plus into the motor and a serious turbo setup, add another 10k into the suspension, 4k into a tranny and yet another 2k into a built rear end, Total=41k plus 30k for the truck and you might as well buy the vette with a warranty and keep the L in the 12's where it's fun and safe and tow the vette to the track for a monthly beating. The weight target for the Stingray/SS is 2900lbs. The current Z0-6 is at an already low 3146. The current car easily runs 11's. The new one should see 10's right from the showroom floor. Not bad!

C6 Z06's at the track have not been impressive.. On the street is a whole different matter. $10,000 is a top long block and install (if that), not all the supporting mods to make it more than a 500hp truck.

Budget $20,000 and you might make it.

The Z0-6 is not built as a uni-dimensional drag race car. Not impressive? You should see that car perform on the open track. No offence, but to even compare a Z0-6 to a Lightning is a joke.

I agree with ^. There's just certain times you have to conceed to being out of your league, and a ZO-6 is just that type of vehicle. Like another guy here said, build a fox body mustang to do it, you'll get a race every time.

Bone stock... 11.5x @ 125+mph on stock rubber. That's not impressive? How many cars can drive off the showroom floor and do that? How many cars can do that under $75k? What would you have to spend on an L to go that quick (and that fast) on F1 radials (keeping the tires equal, and keeping everything street legal)?
