This shouldn't be any different from any other current generation F-150.....

The cap at the end pops off. You can pry it off with your finger nail. After the cap is off, the O/D switch/button can be pulled out along with everything else. If you need to remove the entire lever, then unplug the 3 wires. After that: Move lever all the way over to 1st gear and pull back on the leather boot at the base of the lever. There is a pin holding the lever to the steering column. Pull the pin and slide the lever off the wires. *This is how to completely remove the shift lever from the steering colunm.

You do need to be careful with the cap, however. It's held in place by 3 tabs. Many people have actually broken the tabs, while simply grasping the lever and placing the transmission in gear.

Hey, what the do I know about the Lightning Technically, I don't think I have permission to post here in the 1st place. If word ever got out that I have a 208hp V-6 engine pushing a 3,800lb truck with 3.08:1 gears and 31" tires, nobody would ever take my advise seriously.

Sure could have fooled me, seems to me you know your chit. If Steve and Doug ever found out I was from Florida, I don't think I would have permission either. Come to think of it, I don't have permission now

Like, Doug said: "It's not the schools, it's the water."

You have to replace the whole shifter. Make sure you also buy the new OD button. REad my post here:
