$10,000.00 Upgrade To Beat Z06?

Hello all,
I just bought a 02L and I will be coming home from IRAQ soon and I would like to have my L uprgraded so I can beat a Z06 if I feel ****y someday when Iam out on the weekend with this weekend driver L of mine.
So heres the ? Can $10,000.00 upgrade my L my a profesional installer and have close to 600hp or more and beat a Z06 or do I need to put more into it than that I still want to run 90 plus octane cause there is nowhere near me that sales 100 plus octane any help with tires and susp or any other upgrades would be helpfull
also myL has 38000 mile on it would it be a good idea to rebuild the engine since its down anyway?
thanks for you help
look forward to any and all replys

you'll need to build the lower end, put some good flowing heads on it. Port the eaton, add suspension mods.
Then get the racetested direct port nitrous injection and run 10's.

Or swap the blower and run 9's...

you may be able to beat a C6 z06 on the strip but if you're playing on the street you'll lose almost any time at almost any power level....

You can slip into the high 11's with a stock bottom end, cams, improved blower and good tune. That should put you "on par" with the new ZO6 . But to play it safe, get a built block with a bigger S/C with some spray. (He may have already tweeked his car)

Are you talking about beating the new C6 ZO6 or the older C5? The new ones don't play games.

10K in alot of coin but heres the issue, the vette is like half a ton lighter so right off the bat your at a disadvantage, even with a Whipple or KB and all the bolt ons and I think your going to be light, drivers being equal, a built block will help you turn up the boost but if your going to do that you might as well do the heads, cams ect.. and before you know it your 18K deep in the motor and need a tranny and all the suspention upgrades to take advantage of it, be smart with your mods, keep it streetable.

3147lbs - forget it.

Just to warn you, the code name Blue Devil Corvette to be named Stingray will be introduced next year. Target is 2900lbs and 650 supercharged horses.

You're going to have to get up pretty early to beat that one. Save your money and build a fox body...

Don't bother, especially when GM unleashes the next top dog vette.
No exact name yet, but these have been mentioned: Stingray, SS, Blue Devil. Also mentioned is 650hp from a lysholm style supercharged 6.2 liter (RPO is "LS9")

I agree. Even if you can beat a Z06, there will always be something faster. Just be happy having a quick pick-up.

If you are talking about the new 2006 Z06, $10.000,00 won't be enough to beat him.
