Question of the Day..what's your dream car?
M1A1 Main Battle Tank. With that, you can drive anywhere you want as fast as you can go. Who can stop you?
Love to see the look on my neighbors faces when I pull in the driveway.
No need to wash and wax Cobbham armor. And, NBC capable.

my first choice would be a 1969 dodge charger daytona. (any colour will do)
after that, things get expensive..
Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, and other eurojunk.
maybe even a viper to drive to the store..

Wait a minute! I didn't know that old muscle cars were fair game. Give me a 69 Yenko Camaro or a Judge. Real power...from back when Detroit made CARS you were proud to own.

If I could only have one vehicle, I wouldn't take anything over my L. And since you specify current production, I guess that rules out an F1r. You didn't stipulate street legal, so an Audi R8 would be a lot of giggles. At a somewhat lower performance level, so would one of the new Saleen Mustangs like the one that waxed the Vipers at Lime Rock. But for something I could actually afford, and drive on the street to boot, I anxiously await the hoped for production of the Jaguar F-type. http://www.zing.com/album/pictures.h...5&p=4287890229

I might be stretching the production part of the question but either a Mercedes CLK-GTR (v12 600hp 0-60 3.4 1/4 mile 9.4) or Porche GT1 (600 hp 0-60 3.4 1/4 mile 10.6) either one can be had for a cool $1,000,000.00. A little out of my car budget!!!! But we are dreaming right?
I have to chime in here as I noticed several of you guys mentioned the viper/hennessey viper. Well it seems a programer friend of mine has such a beast a '93 hennessey venom 500. And his wife happens to be a huge truck fan. So as luck would have it we agreed to trade vehicles for the weekend. I cannot tell you enough how horrible these cars are. Now before I get flamed let me explain. To me a sports car should be fast, great handling, braking, stylish, and somewhat comfortable. Well the viper is fast (not that fast it went 12.8@110 Friday at HRP). Handling was good, but the car was very twitching especially at speeds and almost felt dangerous above 100. Braking was down right dangerous....these cars are screaming for better brakes. Stylish...Yes. Comfortable....absolutely not. The car was loud...open header loud, Hot...ungodly hot...no a/c windows or top and little circulation except for the occassional hot exhuast air that filled the cabin at stoplights...stiff....loaded dump truck stiff....pedals...what is up with the pedals being one on top of the other and moved off center to the left and lastly the shifter really needs some work..
I cannot honestly say I was so looking forward to getting my truck back and would strongly recommend against anyone every purchasing one of these vehicles. I do realize some people love these cars, but I can say 1000% I would never consider trading again.
Just my 2.50 and some change.
BTW...I also had it dynoed on Saturday
424rwhp @ 5200rpm and 464rwtq @ 4400rpm
