Since Magnusson is the "only" eaton dealer/service repair for eaton, I think they had better be having a chat with Ford, and get them to send message to all the dealership service centers to only use Eaton Supercharger Oil, since the Ford service centers use 5w30 in the Eaton superchargers. Mine does have 5w30 in it right now, I'm told it's not gonna hurt it in any way, and if the Eaton supercharger needed a special oil, it would stick out with flags on it. It would be on the blower itself, or in the owners manual under fluids, or in the service manual. In Fords Service manual, it doesn't even state what oil to use.
Cheers

Hey guys, Sal here. As many of you know, I have extensively researched the pulley topic. Here are a few things I found that will help answer some of the previous questions....

1) The pulley on the M112 is pressed on with a 5000lb press. There is a special tool that is needed to support the shaft bearing when doing this, and only Eaton and Magnuson have it. You cannot safely use a regular press without this tool or you will damage the blower snout and shorten the life of the blower.

2) Many people have succesfully used the blower snout pulleys, but many, such as myself, damaged the tool, the pulley, the snout or all three. I was lucky enough to have Magnuson sell me a new snout (they don't normally do this) with no pulley and took my chances putting the ASP one on. I did barely get it on, but saw no measurable gain.

3) The oil used in the blower snout is specially designed just for that use. Eaton and Magnuson strongly stress this point. Changing that fluid to ANY other kind of fluid, will shorten the life of the blower and could cause damage.

4) Being that I am a dealer tech, I know exactly what dealers have for info. There is no specification for the blower fluid, because the blower is servicable as a UNIT ONLY. If you have a blower problem and bring it to the dealer, the entire unit gets replaced and there are no servicable parts for it. Also, the blower fluid is designed to last the life of the blower (according to Eaton and Magnuson) so a dealer would never have to change it.

Hope this helps!!

Cobra 99

When did you talk to the Eaton engineer?

I have seen different posts on this and this is the first time I have heard that the Blower can be spun past 14,000 rpm. I think a lot of people have not done the pulley because of this. If it is indeed true that the blower will spin 19k I think more people might do this.

I talked to him a week ago. He went to his offive and called me back with the info. he said the blower would make more boost if the engine reved higher but is is limited to about 5600rpm with a chip... The 4 valve engine in the Gen 3 lightning should goto 7000 rpm. We will have to wait and see.
