Now this is getting interesting. We would have to coordinate the cam with a new chip though, can Sal and/or Swanson accomodate us if we get the new cam?

Hello all..

I figured it would only be a matter of time before people started talking about a cam swap.. I may be wrong but it has always been my experience that cams on force fed motors are not worth that much.. The factory cam is usually ok..

Don't get me wrong.. you WILL get more power out of a good cam BUT I never thought it was worth tearing into a motor for that extra 15-20 hp..

Unless our stock cam is seriously off ( which I doubt ) there is probably not that much more power to be had..

And last but not least.. nothing will ruin a motor faster than wiping a cam lobe.. Some after market cams are notorious for this.. in my opinion it a cam swap would be the LAST thing I would do to the motor..

Just my 2 cents..

The only thing you can do now is regrinds. Nobody has a billet core. We are working on some grinds, should be a few weeks. You should have a chip done with the truck on the dyno, or you'd be shooting in the dark on what the air/fuel is with cams.
