Unhappy

I've also noticed a difference between the 94 and 92 octane. it seems when pumping the 94, the dollar counter is counting at a greater frequency than the 92. anyone else notice this?

So far I know atleast 3 guys on this board that frequent Route66 Raceway where my BOLT does its dancing.

Anybody watched Lightningquick run ?

We would like to hear from you.
Don't mean to imply anything, just would like to hear what the air temperatures are up there and what disavandages the southern states have with turning similar fantastic ETs.

The surging can be dialed out without hurting the WOT performance. Sal does it, I know, he did it for me.

The advance curve at cruise uses a different portion of the code. At WOT the computer won't even run those lines.

So you see, it's possible to have your cake and eat it too.

Don't get me wrong, the Swanson program (he uses the same chip as Sal) seems to be the hot setup for the track though it would be great to have a 3 chip shootout.

Someone should ship Sal their Swanson chip and have him burn one of his 4 position chips with stock, mod street, Sal's full tilt performance and the Swanson full tilt performance program and have at it one night at the track then a day on the dyno. It would make for interresting reading.

Mark W is right about having your cake and eating it too. Simplest approach, is to remove some of the Global Spark adder and add it to the WOT spark table.

Don't for get those D a m n northeasters have great air...

Well, Mark is correct you can set the calibrations different for different throttle posistions, different load conditions, etc. A good tuner can really make a good all around chip. That's what makes the PSP chips nice. They work great at the track, and have all around improved drivability. That's why many here on the board have switched to the PSP chip from other brands. You could do what Steven suggested with the Global adder and WOT timing, but personally I wouldn't want a chip from anyone who uses Global adder. It's a scalar used when a tuner doesn't want to take the time to tune the entire rpm range. It just adds a set value to the existing timing tables.

I don't know what part of the NorthEast you've been to, but there's no great weather around here. Maybe in the early spring and late fall the baramoter gets to the high 30s and occasionally a 31, but most of the race season it's in the high 29 to low 30 range. Not the best for power. The PSP truck went 13.0Xs in 30.20 weather. Johnny's truck went 13.0Xs with the barometer in the 32 range. Spiros truck ran it's best ET of a 13.06 with the superchip, but that was also with the baramoter over 32. Both mine and Spiros trucks went 13.1Xs in high 29 baramoter. If we ran our trucks in weather over 32, both trucks would easily go high 12s.

Sal, I wouldn't use the GSA, but people do.
I would only use the GSA, during early tuning, but I have no clue what danny's doing, and he wouldn't tell me anything over the phone...
Also I said the simplest approach, which, Lquick seems to be mostly looking for WOT performance, this is the simplest approach, but you are right it is not the best approach. I am glad you pointed this out though, because I think alot of people do not understand how chip tuning is done.
You have to give Mike Wesley some credit his software is pretty good.

Sal I would kill for a 31. But 32's you got me drooling. Of course I'm talking about the Fall and spring.

What we really need is some handling mods, I have one in the works, and you don't have to lower your truck, but if you did this will still work. The mod is in the works, and if it works, I will give out all the info you need to reproduce it should be under $100 but no more then $200.

Thumbs up

oh yea everybody i have a conical k/n airfilter directly in the path of the hot air off the fan not a air kit set up. i need to get one thats for sure! my 13.0 was on stock f1's too but that's all this truck has. it would be interesting for those running bassani exhaust, smaller blower pullies, larger throttle bodies, airfilter setups and the chip of their choice to remove all of it except the chip and see if their e.t.'s go up or go down thats all i'm trying to acheive a 12 sec. run with just a superchip. lots of people have tried to convince me to switch to another brand chip but why? superchips has done an awsome job as far as i'm concerned.therefor no need to change. john i hope to see ya real soon. are you going to put your stock exhaust back on? i'm sure we'll still have alot of fun like we always do..... take care and keep it between the lines..........
