Hey Russ
We found a silver L here in Monroe, MI. Mike had said he would have one in few days, and then in conversation later he told my dad about a month or so. The next day I got a call from this dealer that had one available because of someones financing fell through. Great Luck! But thanks for your help!

What do you think he'll let a black one go for?

I can get one for MSRP easily, but haven't found anyone that would go lower! Thanks

Alpha, look on your back bumper. Molded in the black plastic it listed the towing capacity and tongue weight. 5000/500 pounds respectively.

Also, the brochure I got from the Dealer mentions the 5000 lb towing capacity. I found no mention in the Lighting owners manual.

Thumbs up

Got my 99 red lighting from gillingham ford in parma ohio for a plan. I live in north carolina and always go up there to cleveland area for my cars. The dealers up there will almost always go aplan because of all the ford plants in the area up there. Gillingham ford is right next to the clevelad engine plant. Mullinax ford is near the lorain truck plant. Mike Bass ford is one exit from the avon lake truck plant. These dealers are great to deal with along with mathews ford in sandusky where i have purchased both my cobra from. Good luck on your lightning purchases. Got mine from gillingham and did it all on phone. Well worth the trip home to ohio. Wish the north carolina dealers were as easy to deal with.

Does anyone know how much the Lightning goes for under A-Plan? Dealers around here are selling it for $3,000 over MSRP and won't A-Plan it!

An "A" plan is for employees that belong to a company that Ford Motor ownes.

Most Dealerships will not sell hard-to-get units like the L as an "A" plan because they lose money vs. what the store would have made as a retail sale.

Hey FORDSALES...Can you provide a list of companies that Ford Motor "ownes". I am under the impression that the "A" Plan only applies to those who "work" at a Ford plant of some type..such as a parts plant or assembly plant. If I could purchase an L for 26K, I'd buy one today....I'm having a hard time with that 31K+ price tag !!!
5K off of MSRP is a great benefit for Ford employees !!!! I sure would like to figure out a way to be legally eligible.
Thanks in advance for the info.

A/Z-Plan can be extended to the employee's immediate family, but does not go to friends, aunts/uncles/cousins/grandparents. But it does include step...brother/sister....I think that may be it.

My dad works for ford, so I "A" planned mine.

The rules are as follows:
Dad works for ford, so all of his daughters and sons, his brother and sisters, my moms brothers and sister, my dads parents, and my moms parents get "A" plan. Now any of these people that are married, their spouse also gets a plan. So son in laws, daughter in laws, brother in laws, and sister in laws may use a plan. If a parent was to remarry, their spouse may use "A" plan as well. If dad was ever to remarry then step sons and step daughters can use "A" plan.

Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, nephews, and Cousins do not get "A" plan.

Anyone further removed does not get "A" plan

All of these people will get "A" plan till both Mom and Dad have passed away, at that point all "A" plan privs are lost.

That’s how it was explained to me, but I could be wrong.

Just my $.02

Brad
