Gator I'm not a fan of Jeeps, I've owned (2) before this and I swore I'd never get another, But my brother I got to tell you.....
in all my time, and all the years, and all the makes models and options, I have NEVER seen something so hi tech, powerful, and funtional come out of ANY car mfg. Over priced ? HELL YA WHAT ISNT ? but no matter what it's wrapped up in this Motor/Trans/Rear Combo will out run ANYTHING out there short of Vehicles costing double to triple it's cost. AND even if they're faster this will out run them on the road due to the impossibility of losing traction.
....
Rob, you really are smokin' crack buddy! First off, it ain't a hemi. And it may use hemisperical type heads, but so do MANY cars today.
Whats hi tech about it? Not much!
It will outrun ANYTHING???? WTF Dude? You can get a STOCK LS1 to run those times. How long have they been out? STOCK Cobra's. Stock C6's, STI's, Evo's, ZO6's, new Shelby's....I'm sure there are hundreds more that will crush that HOMO powered rig, at near the same price! Now don't get me wrong...its a cool car....but just because you paid an azzload of money, and the magazines say it has 420hp, doesn't mean its all that fast.

Rob,
The hennessey SRT600 you mention has done 12.1 so far, at a cost of $75k. You did better than that with your L for about half that price, how's the Jeep cheaper? I also see where mopar wants $1,400 for a catback. No way is the GC ever gonna be cheaper to own, operate or mod than an L.

Other than that I'm sure the GC is a fun ride and you're happy with it.

Stock for stock, the Lightning and GC would be very reliable and relatively inexpensive to own, other than fuel. But, when you push the envelope and have joe mickey mouse tuner answer your demands for more power, then bring out the check book and ask junior to take on 3 extra paper routes. The all wheel drive system and MB transmission, by themselves can put you on a diet of puff wheat and rice for quite some time.

WTF dude! You seriously need to lay off the ****. I would bet that thing would have trouble running within a full second of your Lightnings best.

And nothing can touch your Jeep. Any day you want to line up against my Z06 let me know. I spent over $15,000 less. Straight line or turns is fine with me.
We'll race for titles, wait Gator said you don't even have yours!!! -Mat-

my my arent my x brothers touchy

Once again I NEVER SAID or compared it to a Lightning.
What I was referring to was real world, NOT RACE TRACKS (like I said)
And like I also said the GC will NEVER be a Lightning nor as fast as mine was.
HOWEVER each and everyone of you with a 500 + hp L knows that you cant touch the gas pedal on the street and you surly cant put that power to the ground, that was always my #1 complaint with my Lightning, (I had all this power but couldn't enjoy it).

Thats NOT the case with the AWD and for the record Mat it absolutely eats stock LS's at the track all day long (including 400HP GTO's, and Corvettes). Now the Z06 thats def another story, quite a car, and actually quite the bang for the buck, (maybe the ONLY exception to what I said). But like I also said on the street stock to stock the AWD will pretty much eat anything from a dead stop, anytime you wanna give it a go I'm in.

AS for the Stang with the Procharger and 4.10's there's no doubt it'll run hi 11's, (maybe low 12's), once I get to the track I'll make sure and let you know what ET it ran ; o )

Now where I will totally disagree with anyone is in the technoligy that went into this Jeep's Motor, Trans, Rears, Suspension, Exhaust, Convertor's, Brakes,
Rims,Tires, etc. (that's what sold me). NOT ONE has blown up yet we know of, and not one has even been hurt for that matter, and they're out there racing each and every weekend for a year now. Maybe they learned from their mistakes with the Viper truck ???

All this GC needs is an aftermarket Supercharger and it'll run easy 11's, just give them time to make an afforable kit.

Your motor has a 10.3:1 compression ratio. Because the gains will be limited compared to a low-compression engine, a system for a high-compression engine is harder to sell, and the potential for engine damage (and p*ssed off customers) is much greater. You will not be bolting on 15 PSIG, that's for sure.

Some halo cars (like the Z06) will get systems in spite of these challenges. Maybe the 6.1 will get one sooner or later.

Let me know when that happens with a stock drivetrain.

Any news about the stroker kit Jim ? Why is so difficult finding the stroker cranks ? If you have an aluminum stroker engine, 5.9 Liter or more, i would like to buy one.
Let me know.
