Easy as can be. I just installed one a few weeks ago. If you can turn a wrench and read directions, you can do it. It's a little messy. Go to autozone and buy one of their gigiantic metal drip pans, it's about 3' by 4', for about $5. Makes it much easier to contain all the tranny fluid that WILL leak out everywhere.

Just follow the directions and you won't have any problems. Good idea to get the right torque wrench though. It's not a messy job if you have a good sized drain pan as previously suggested.

It's easy to do. You need an in/lb torque wrench and some time, ATF fluid and a pile of rags. Since the stock pan doesn't have a drain you may consider just drilling a small hole in it and letting the fluid drain out before removal. Lots of guys replace the stock pan with the 4x4 pan and filter. It has a drain plug and holds a couple more quarts of fluid. For future fluid changes this makes it nice. Lots of information on the FTVB its a good mod.

Checked the auction. That is a decent price and it is a genuine FTVB as you can see GE's signature on the side of it in the pic.

If you don't win it. Chickenman is the place to get one.

Not that hard at all, did it 2 weekends ago. I already had a B&M pan, so I just popped in the FTVB and a new filter and fluid. I did buy a new inch-pound torque wrench though. If you dont have one, it could come in handy for this and other do-it-yourself truck projects. I bought one from sears for like $70.

I just looked at it, it's one of mine and the latest model, too. If you do bid on it, if you'd like it checked and cleaned you can have them send it here and I'll work it all out and forward it along to you. The lifetime warranty applies even if you buy it used on Ebay.

Hope this helps,

G

Chris
It's an awesome mod and truly one that "every" L should have
As G just told you it's the newest he makes so your getting the best available,
and it is truly as easy as removing some bolts, and putting um back in
(with a little red stuff inbetween)

SO IS IT IN YET ???

Greg ....you are a good man.

In fact.... I just bought one from you about 10 minutes ago.

I'll install it myself and let you know how easy it was.
