Exclamation Removing supercharger crank pulley

We have been trying to remove our supercharger crank pulley ALL night long and the thing is not wainting to come off. Online it say that there is 100 ft/lbs required to remove the center bolt ,but we have been pulling with a five foot breaker bar with two men, and all we have got is about to revoltions of the bolt in about six hours of work! Why the h*ll is it so d@mn tight!

fyi its a left hand thread. hope you weren't tightening it more. i've changed many for friends and never had an issue with it not budging using a large bar on the end of my rachet. good luck.

Never seen one that was this difficult. Some are hard to get started, but come off easy once you break it loose. Is this the stockl pulley you are removing? Has it been off before?

This is the stock pulley. I have never removed the pulley before, but I did have Ford sevice department work on the truck before when it spit a plug out, so I don't know if the pulley been off.

Did you take the damn bolts off the cage first?

So it rotated two turns and then quit turning? This might be the problem ...

Yes the 3 blots that hold the cage on have been removed, and the center crank bolt will turn, it's just requires 2 men pulling on a 4 foot breaker bar to get the bolt to turn.

I've done a handfull of lower pullies. I lay under the truck sideways with me feet on the inside of the drivers front tire while the truch is on jackstands and give a quick yank. I have had a hard time with the three that I've done.

you locked the engine using a torque converter strap right ?

I have removed stock pulleys 8 or so times myself and seen it done a couple dozen more times and once you bust it loose an 1/8th turn its almost finger tight ( or loose )
