Jim

There's obviously a communication break down here and for that I am sorry, cause at no time was I told to bring the truck back at 1500 miles ???
Yes we talked at least a few times after I left but only for me to tell you how awesome the truck was running, and yes to ask for a convertor lock up change, in which you fixed in one day I may ad The only talk of my truck ever going back was you mentioned working on stronger 120lb springs and maybe someday in the future I'd swap them out for my 105's.

Jim, Mike, everyone
I had no intention on talking about this, or my schitty *** results for that matter, I should have known If people asked I'd end up getting tied up in this chit &@$%(@$%(@$%(@$%(@$%(@$%@($%@($$@
all I did was answered questions when people asked, but as usual I'm made out to be the bad guy here, WHAT ELSE IS NEW!! : O (
*(%$(@$%(@$%()@$^)@$^_@$^@)$%)@$%@)($^

I wouldnt be feeling so schitty disappointed and embarrassed if I didn't feel I was lied to. Jim we had 3 detailed conversation on 3 differant days where I outright asked if I was getting my "real tunes", I was told yes all 3 times. AMOF I was told if I wanted the real tunes I should get rid of my brand new SCT Chip (it only had 2 hours drive time on it cause it was swapped out before I left for JDM day) and buy the XCal2. When I asked why I was told because then I can send it back for tweaking yet still keep a tune in the Truck and keep driving it. Ah now that made total sense to me, especially since I was clear I'd prob have a real hard time getting back for re-tuning.
So I hired Cuz to have my truck delivered and the rest is history....

This was the info I was giving on my tunes

RACE TUNE (First Attempt, belt was slipping and boost was dropping off)
Pulley Combo....Boost...Timing......A/F...HP...TQ
8 Lwr + 2.7 Upr, 19 Lbs, 14 Degrees, 11.50, 593/650 (607/668 Uncorrected)

The next day w/ belt change,
RACE TUNE
Pulley Combo....Boost...Timing......A/F...HP...TQ
8 Lwr + 2.7 Upr, 19 Lbs, 14 Degrees, 11.50, 606/649

STREET (with the Larger Upper Pulley)
Pulley Combo....Boost...Timing......A/F...HP...TQ
8 Lwr + 2.9 Upr, 17 Lbs, 14 Degrees, 11.50, 581/617

Winter / Break-In (with the Larger Upper Pulley)
Pulley Combo....Boost...Timing......A/F...HP...TQ
8 Lwr + 2.9 Upr, 17 Lbs, 10 Degrees, 11.50, 555/598

And these were the dyno sheets I was giving
The writting on the top I assume is yours ?

AT NO TIME WAS I TOLD THESE WERE NOT THE TUNES ON MY XCAL2
But I'm the bad guy as usual, so away I will go
HAVE A GOOD LIFE EVERYONE......

Rob, you didn't pull a "ME" and forget to switch tunes right>??? I was shocked at some not so impressive times once(still 10.80's) and then realized I never went to my race tune! HaHa. I'm stupid!
Come join the ranks of "corrected" 1/4 mile times and buy a Z06 like me. -Mat-

Rob,

I have no idea whats going on with your truck, if there is even anything wrong with it. Every customer of mine gets a free check up and dyno after a new motor. You said I didnt tell you about that, I know for a fact I did because you said that when we would tune for your nitrous. Your implying I lied about HP numbers. As you can see everytruck out there that we do runs great numbers and you never hear complaints about our customers ET's. There might be something going on with the truck, too rich it could slow you down a few tenths, I went over your tune last night and you should have only been about 2 tenths off of were you would have been with the max HP tune. It wasn't a couple hundred pounds you removed I talked to Vinnie, the weight you removed might have gained you a tenth. I wish you would have just called and said my Trucks not performing the way I think it should, dropped it off and had us look at it. Calling us Liar's and bashing the tunes just isnt right. Especially when you read these boards everyday how well our trucks perform at the track.

Jim

Communication people! I'll never understand why people won't just pick up the phone and talk vs. trying the delayed approach of the computer.

The other thing I don't understand is how a tune with 11.5 A/F and 14 degrees of timing can be considered a race tune on a built motor at that boost level unless that's a nitrous tune.

Yes Tim, He is. By that I mean he should have left this off the boards and dealt with Jim directly regardless of how he was feeling!

Rob, nobody is saying your the bad guy and we all understand how you feel. The only thing I was trying to get across to you was to leave this off the boards and deal with it on person or over the phone because all of the b.s. that is happening now is exactly what V and I warned you about!

I understand how you feel Rob, after all your problems. Also with the investment made I guess it is reasonable to expect more. With 600 HP on the dyno I also would be wondering why it did not show in the ETs.
I will say that Jim made it clear to me that I was getting break in tunes until I rechecked on the dyno after 1K to 1500 miles. I do believe it is prudent to take small steps forward.
Looking at your #s you are down in MPH and also pretty soft on the 60'. I trapped 118 on the same pulley combo as you, and I don't come close to 600HP. These MP blowers do not 60' as well as the KBs. You did better the stock block #s by a bit without nitrous and much safer. That 100 shot helped the 60' a great deal.
It is too bad that you are not yet satisfied with your truck, but you are real close. It always takes time to get everything perfect for that clean pass resulting in a low #. As for the communication issues? I guess only you and Jim know the deal on that.
I hope you stay in the game as I want to run side by side into the 10s with our MP powered, JDM built and tuned trucks.

Jim

Rob,

FYI, I had a brother in-law that lowered his truck and it upset the dynamics of how it launched. He lost nearly an half second because of it, and yes it was still hooking up. Don't know what your case my be but I do know that chassis set up can make or break a half second on leave, seen it done. May help my not, just food for thought.

Good luck,

Tim

A-f'n men!!!!

Amen, amen, amen, ....I can't say it enough.

Stop letting computers run your lives and use the god damn telephone. Yet another issue that could have been resolved without this.

Rob, I know Jim will take care of you and get your truck running like a raped ape if you give him a chance. Look at the good things. At least you aren't having the kind of problems you were before. You'd be surprised the kind of problems a low battery, O2 sensor etc. can cause in a high hp truck. Keep your chin up buddy. You'll be looking like this before ya know it.

well rob,,,get that truck over to jdm,,let them retune it and get back out to the track

no harm done by either party's,,,words are only words,,,and when you feel happy sad or mad pepole get emotional,,,,,to prove my point just think back when we were kids and we got those girls in the back seat,,,we were happy so we said things like i love you,,,you are the prettiest,,,blah,,,,blah,,,blah

so when we are pissed we spout off a bit,,big fricken deal

if jdm gets your truck to run a number you want,,,,,it will be i love you, your the prettiest,,,blah,,,blah,,,,blahh

maybe your truck isnt as fast as it could be right now,,jim thinks he can get it there,,,,let him try

There's prob a medical term for people like me,
I just call it stubborn F@cking Italian

I have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time effort money and feeling into this truck, I'm sorry I just expect results. Sooooooo ****** sick and tired of running high 11's (and even now the .6) I mean schitt I've been running .8 @ 114 MPH since the first winter and Mods on stock block eaton. And with the power I was now shown, NO ONE here can possibaly dispute my multi 116MPH passes are MILES AWAY from the worse power level tune I may have.

Yet words can not express how frigging flawless this truck is running, THERE IS CLEARLY NOTHING WRONG. I can use it in sub zero (and have since I've gotten it back), I can use the Street Tune and Smaller Pulley Combo on the street for un-imaginable power and fun in warmer weather (am right now amof). And for the L Brothers that were there, they can tell you the truck DEF ran it's best possible ET on a perfect day with a perfect set.
AND I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS, where the hell is the 580-600 HP ?

Yes the 60's could have been better (and usually they are 1.5's) there is a reason for that, they had computer prob's and left me sitting for ages at the tree (after the burnout) heat soaking, and when they finally fixed the computer we had to JUST GO. My tires DEF cooled off by then
But 1.70 and 1.6 are still plenty good enough to see the power in it, and it's simply not there.

As I CONTINUE to say I love Jim and JDM and this motor is frigging flawless

I cant begin to explain how awesome it is as a daily driver, and I guess a mid 11 sec street ruck really isnt all that bad .

Jim I am sorry I allowed myself to get tied up in this thread, I have way too much anger and dissapointment in me right now to be posting or talking about this. You do build the best and as I continue to say my motor performed unbelievable. Amof shortly after running mid 11's I sat in 3 hours of absolute stop dead traffic on the way home, and all we did was changed tires and loaded the hot street program. Going there I drove for hours in driving rain (hydro planing and all), it's powerful as hell yet drive just like any other vehicle on the open road

Unfortuantely it will prob be months and months before you and I can possibaly hook up so I guess another season of racing is shot to schitt,
but if I should ever find some time I DO WANT TO WORK THIS OUT
