Yes Island

Yes I DID run a hot tune on c16 (this pass cost me $700.00 to be exact)
Bottom line the truck simply DOES NOT have the tunes I was told I had
AND
I am NOT interested in playing the progession game
OR
Any games for that matter

SO GAME IS OVER!!!

Looks like you guys had a great time! Rob don't worry about the lack of times...it does take some getting used to when you have that much power! Your time slips will be getting smaller and smaller...
Vinman the shop looks great!

Before you ask,
The fact I went racing days ago and didnt say anything is obviously saying I am very dissapointed in the results and dont care to speak about them. However that doesnt take away from the fact I got me one hell of a kick *** Lightning, the lack of et was because of the tune I had to use. The truck is running frigging flawless, and I did FINALLY burry the old personal best from 4 yrs ago (on the stock block), Thank Frigging God. I guess to be able to do that without using 100HP of Nitrous is a huge achievement ( I took the bottles and brackets out, even covered up the holes in the Bed) but it still fell extremely short imo and I'm not a happy camper about it at all.
But it feels awesome to be racing again, I had a great time with great people and I may add my L looks GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT, hehehehe

Rob,

Glad your day was a success, thank god Vinnie caught your weak battery issue, because at WOT the altenator cant keep the amperage you need going to the pumps and pcm. We had a truck here on the dyno the other day that kept going lean, after being frustrated for about 4 hours it was all over a weak battery with one bad cell! Little things like this are important when running a high horsepower application and you have to pay attention to all details!

If I dissapointed you with your tunes not being so aggressive. Its because you were supposed to bring your truck back to our shop for a FREE dyno and checkup after 1500 miles. You had such bad luck over the last couple of years with breaking motors, chipping valves, burning up 9 (I think thats what you said) sets of spark plugs. I wanted to make sure that you were 110% and nothing else was going on with anything that would possibly hurt this motor. You left here with a street tune that allowed you to do 150 MPH!! with out hurting anything, countless burnouts, telling everyone how you love your truck again and the driveability of it. All you kept talking about when you picked up your truck was the race tune, "do I have a race tune?!!!" Most people leave our shop after investing as much money as you did in a motor, torque convetor, and the other parts that went into it and ask "when can I bring it back again to make sure nothing else is going on to do damage again" Especially when its FREE, yes your street tune and race tune would have been more aggressive after that. I heard from you twice within the first week, all that you said was you didnt like the way torque convertor lock up came in. I have not talked to you since that, 4 months ago! Why would we let a truck leave ballz out right away, especially knowing that the truck had issues previously. Vinnie even told you that if you were going racing that he might stop by my shop and pick up a seperate chip with a more aggressive race tune. He couldnt because I had already left for FFW Atlanta.

Again sorry that your truck is running flawless, as you stated.

Good night,

What's with all the red tape. Let's get it out in the open. I just read this thread and it seems like half of it is missing or something.

Rob,
I of all people understand your fustration (and Jim knows this) about breaking motors. I too had what I thought was an issue with tuning and after talking with Jim and then seeing what it could do after being PROPERLY TUNED at JDM day I was very pleased to say the least. You have to understand that Jim has the best intentions for you and your truck so if things dont go the way you planned then it was for a reason but you will get there. We talked about this at length the other day and I thought you understood where I was coming from. I know there is 2 sides to every story and you felt like you were lied to but im sure that there was no bad intentions on Jims part. I know its not easy for you to just drop your truck off at JDM like it is for some people but that is an unfortunate side of owning this type of vehicle.
My advice to you is 1. stop shooting yourself in the foot. 2. Stop posting everything you do on the internet. 3. Talk to Jim, play nice with each other and reach the goal to which you were aiming for and lastly - stop shooting yourself in the foot!
Good luck buddy

Good night,

The guy is sporting a huge friggin JDM banner, and is officially a member of the JDM Cheerleaders. He praises how JDM made his truck run flawlessly, and offers his thanks.

And Rob is shooting his own foot?

BTW, Rob, you seem to have some sort of factory paint defect. Every closeup photo shows the image of some ugly guy.

Have you tried color sanding it out?
