Need your prayers everyone **IMPORTANT**
Hang in there and things will be alright, but you do need to get him admitted if he can't get around on his own. That should show his doctor that he needs to be watched over and trust me you can't do it all by yourself.
I'll pray for both of you and Mike's mom.

sxyscorpio,
I just had a long discussion w/a co-worker who used to work in an ER.
First off, she said get ahold of the American Diabetes Association (I know they have a very informative website, but I don't know the address). She said look through the information and this should be able to answer alot of questions.
She said check into glucose tablets or gel which is available over the counter.
She said if he blood sugar levels get to between 40-60, make sure Mike eats something right away. If his level hits 120, then she said he is a Diabetic.
She said stress raises the sugar level. I know Mike must be going through alot of stress in his life w/his Mother's situation.
She said because of the pain in his stomach it could be an ulcer.
For them to run a GTT, take him to the ER and tell them the he has blurry vision, frequent urination and extreme thirst. Tell them the last time he had these symptoms they didn't run the test and then he returned feeling back to normal afterwards, but tell them he wants to have the test now because he has the above symptons. She said they will probably run the test. If they still don't, then do this: No smoking, no drinking alcohol and no aspirin (as these will alter readings). With your glucose test, run tests on him first thing in the morning before he eats, then before each meal, then before bed. Also pick up the tester to check for ketones in his urine. Chart the readings for several days and then you will have data that you can take this to the doctors and this should show them what is going on.
She said there is also a new test called an HBIC or HB1C which charts the glucose level for about a 6 month period.
Cut out the obvious sugar sources, but in addition cut out the non obvious sources such as: ketchup, barbeque sauce, baked beans, anything w/molasys, anything ending w/ose (glucose, sucrose), or anything that has on the ingredients list a sugar substance on the first 5 items on the list.
I hope this information can be of some assistance.

Be careful there is lots of confusing information out there. Here are some links. They may help or they may be psuedo science. Dont lie to ER about symptoms, last hing you need is to have him be put on insulin.
Good Luck

Dear Syxscorpio,
First, our prayers are with your family as well, to say the least.
Second, I'm no doctor, but I am the Director of the National Chronic Pain Outreach Association, and I just saw some interesting facts on gallbladder problems, and this should be checked as well. One of the symptoms you mentioned, pain and nausea after eating is one of the indicators. The gall bladder contracts and squirts bile to help digest fats, and a gallstone can cause this symptom of pain & nausea after eating, when the gall bladder contracts to squirt it's bile fluid to digest the fats, so it's just a thought, and they can also cause weight loss. Losing 40-50 pounds in just a few months without deliberate dieting is a serious warning sign. His low energy level may be helped in the interim by taking vitamins every day, as simple and silly as that may sound.
God bless Mike & all of you,

hey everyone...
Mike had called me last night while I was at work... He was talking to a chat room host at a place he chats online, and this host works at the local hospital in
Springfield, MA. She's a Gastro-intestinal nurse there. Last night I talked with someone who has Krohn's Disease. When Mike was talking to her, she asked him about all of the symptoms, and everything he told her fit perfectly into the symptoms of the disease. She told him that he HAS to come in on Monday, and she will get him in to see someone. I'm so glad we're going in a certain direction now... I'll let you know what happens...but I will also take into account diabetes and the gallstones too.
I also want to thank each and every one of you for praying for mike and I. He needs it way more then I do though. Thanks again and I'll give an update once I hear more about this...

I'm on Yahoo Messenger all night.
I will explain then what my situation is. I will let you all know now that it is extremely painful, and getting worse. I wanted to let some here know the general situation as not everyone will meet me at Yahoo. I owe you all for the prayers.
The name I am under at Yahoo is (metallicblue1)
Sincerely,
Michael
