Post PCP Products

I am about to order a chip and air filter. Does anyone know how if PCP has them in stock now. I am confused, everyone says that Sal is a really nice guy but then others say they can never get thru to him. I would love to try out their products, but if they are on backorder for months, does'nt sound like a very good business to me. I know I am not special, but if I am going to spend $500 on a companies products, you would think you could talk to them over the phone. Any way, does anyone know what the status of their products are?
I was considering ordering a chip from Performance products, they have them in stock and have been very helpful. Anyone have experience with this chip. How does the K&N filter compare to Airraid and PCP?

Thumbs up

My opinion is this:
What is a little bit of a wait for a quality product that will last probably the duration of the ownership of the truck? If you search throught prior posts I can say this: Many posts address problematic issues in regards to Superchips, I don't believe I have read a single post indicating a problem with Sals chip. Just my .02 worth.

He's not taking orders on filters until he catches up. It's worth the wait though. PSP website:

Cali,
I am curious why you say that other than the well known"reliability"issue,Sals is betterHave you tested both at the track. From what I have seen so far,Superchips is good for a much better time when working correctly. Please help me.Is sals really that much better.Dont hold back ,Let us know so we can all do the right thing.Ive got a 00 on the way.I was going to buy another superchip but I certainly have an open mind. What kind of threw me off is sals best time is not as good as mine.

Guys!! Wait for Sal's ? For how long ? I would love to order a chip from Sal, if I could only get a hold of him to find out what century they will be available. I have e-mail to no avail, and have called over and over, with no luck. SAL - WHY DON'T YOU USE THIS FORUM TO SLIP US A LITTLE HINT AS TO YOUR LEAD TIME ON CHIPS (I promise I won't tell Steve). If I knew I could order a chip from Sal and get it within 2-3 weeks, I would most likely order it. But if it is going to take 3-6 months like the filters, forgetaboutit. Also, I would like to know why Sal's chips are better than Superchips.

I'm in the same boat. My better half has given me her blessing to buy a chip and filter, but I have to get it done quickly, before she comes up with another home improvement project to spend my Lightning money on.

Sal, can't you hire some illegal immigrants to put those filters together?

Illegal immigrants huh? Hmm.. j/k Seriously, chips are not a problem. I usually have them in stock. They go out within a week, unless I'm waiting for more to come in. I think one of the big problems with people ordering chips, is that alot of people won't just order the things, they want to get me on the phone personally. If you have questions, and E-mail me saying so, then just E-mail me the questions If you can't get the on-line ordering to work, drop an order in the mail. I try to keep up best I can. Remember that I will not answer the phone most of the time, because I am at my full time job during the day, and at night I'm on line taking care of new orders. When PSP gets to the point where I can do it full time, I'll be there to answer phones all day

Lightningtuner,

I see in your sig that you've got the full Bassani exhaust. What differences in perf between this exhaust and stock have you found? TIA.

Hey Sal,

Great to hear about the order time for chips, but you didn't give any indication on the lead time for your air-filter? I just put in an order for an AirRaid yesterday but would glady switch and wait for yours if I have some clue as to how long it would be...

TVW -- do a search for Bassini, Sal talks about his installation of it in a post a while back.

Question

Any of you with Sal's Chip, can you provide which setting you had chosen in regards to WOT and Part-Throttle.

Did you choose "firmer than stock" or "much firmer than stock"?

If so, were there any problems?

I have had both chips and feel the PSP is better.
tvw - I asked Sal specifically about the Bassani exhaust and he said performance wise "not that impressed". But did mention that quality wise, it is the best available and that he would never think of taking it off.I personally still plan on getting it eventually.

John JR - When I ordered my PSP chip I wanted the hardest shifting all out chip avail., and was told thats what everybody gets. I do highly reccommend it.

I have the Airaid but wish I would have got Sals instead, its quality is really much better and the filter seems to be better flowing.
