A friend/neighbor of mine, Scott Russell, bought one of the first 99's available in 99 (paid like 5k over list) and still has it. Scott is a past World Superbike multiple champion. He has never kept a vehicle very long (usually destroys it) and has bought/traded Mercedes, Vipers, Corvettes, Porsches, Hummers, you name it....but has managed to keep his L all this time! And, he hasn't been able to destroy it...yet!
Scott, actually influenced me in buying my 01 in 02 and I plan to keep it forever! Of course, I'm already 61!

I got my 01 in july of 01 . 32k miles 5 sets of tires, 1 motor, 100's of bottles shes still ticking and going faster all the time. I will admit there have been times over the last year i became bored with it but then i take it for a spin and one good 20+ psi run and im back in action

2000 purchased in December of the same year. Now has 68K hard driven miles but still looks and runs like new.
