Whipple replace the midplate. Thats why there are two kits. As you know the KB bolts up using your excisting plate.

ahh, that is interesting... I also didn't realize you get another 90mm MAF... That can easily be sold to the mustang community for that $100...

Probably because the midplate would have a second set of holes in it that would need to be plugged. Instead they just made two midplates.

Actually the midplate on the 99-00 and 01 up are 2 different "shapes". like i said the 99-00 needed the extra ince added to the front. because of whipple supplying the midplate that problem came into effect and just drilling new mounting holes to fit both years will not fix the "shape" issue. since KB does not include a midplate and the midplate is the same "shape" for all years the only issue they had was the bolt pattern

if you have the ford updated,conversion intercooler kit or what ever its called do you use the 99 kit or 01 and up?

im going to say you still have to use the 99,00 kit due to the fact that, the fix was an updated I/C core, with the correct plate that would match the lower manifold on the 99's and 00's
