Let me just ask one simple last question and I will exit this thread forever...

Why is that so many of you feel that I am the one that has to give here? I am already giving something - this web site that I operate.

I pay to run the site, remember. Sal has been told many times that he is welcome here (do I really need to say it again?), low cost advertising options have been presented to him, he turned down them down.

I don't think I am being unflexible or unreasonable. You have made Sal a martyr for some reason. I continue to pay to operate this site, I have no option there. That is all.

Steve, I understand your position, and believe that if you "can't" give, then Sal "should" try to pay some form of advertising. He has made "alot" of money by being here at F150online, and we are all aware of that, but do you agree with my reasoning above regarding him indirectly making money for F150online? I guess it does not really matter, but it may widen your eyes towards coming to a compromise on an Ad Fee lower then $300-$500.

The TOS were there long before I became a member, and even though they were not all enforced at the time of my membership, they were in "existence". We were lucky back then, but we all knew that one day the TOS would be completely enforced.

This means that "you" are clearly at an advantage, and I respect it. It would not be "right" (Buisness Ethics) to change the rules for one individual. I believe you understand as well as I do, that you are in an unfavorable position, and it's not easy to avoid.

I can easily understand this discomfort, because I am the Host of a Hypoglycemia/Insulin Abnormalities UBB forum. I answer a lot of questions, and can become exhausted by some of the skeptical comments or disagreeable comments that are asked over & over, even when I know "I'm" right & have already answered them.

If I made Sal look like anything other then a "asset" to this Lightning forum, then I am sorry. I was trying to accentuate his side of the issue & provide some insight. I am now putting a lot of detail into your side. I should probably keep my nose out of this, but this forum really "feels" as if it "belongs" to all of us, and I "need" to provide my ideas regarding its fate, or the fate of another member. Remember BADASSVT? These types of topics always have my name somewhere in the list. I just want to take my spot as a caring member.

Reread my suggestions, they are very "idealistic", and I'm positive that you can find something in that post above that is benificial.

Best of luck, and try not to take what I say personally. I'm the last person who would ever dissrespect anyone, including you. I guess I'm an interloper in a sense.

Hey, the webmaster is moderating anyway and obviously reads the messages.

Let Sal post what he posts, and if the web master dosn't like it, its his perogative to remove it... I don't think there should be any retribution other then the removal of the offending thread.

Thats just an opinion though.

Should be interesting as I have not run at a strip for over 30 years.

Hey all, Sal here. I really did not wish this to start up a debate again. I just answered the question posted to me as to why I don't say certian things anymore. As Steve has stated, he and I have discussed this off line. But for those of you who want to know why I don't "advertise" here, I'll explain. I was quoted a price of $300-$500 per month for advertising. That gets me the banners on the top of the screens. Now, the way I look at it (from a business standpoint), that's really not beneficial to me and I'll tell you why. The Lightning forum is about 5% of the total volume of this site. Many members here have already stated that they do not visit other parts of this site, as is the case with myself. I don't make any non-Lightning prodcuts, so 95% of the banner advertising would be wasted on forums that can't use my products. Also, when Steve gave me the advertising info, he specifically told me that even if I did buy advertising, I would still not be allowed to post product related info here in the forum. I had asked him once why other "paying" vendors are allowed and continue to do so,and was told that he gives them "slack" because they are paying vendors. So that is why I chose not to advertise here. I had considered it, but to watse that kind of money, didn't make sense to me. That has already been discussed between Steve and myself. The reason I have been weary to respond to certian posts, is becuase Steve has privately complained to me about posts being business related that weren't, so since I don't want to be kicked off the board, I just don't respond as much anymore. Now please just let this subject die.....
