OK thanks, do you have any recommendation on using the stock Ecu or the lightning ECu, or would reprogramming either one be basically the same?

Use your stocker, you'll have less issues with the pats cluster etc. Do you plan to run the Lightning cluster? I'm not sure anyone has done that before, I'd again stick with your stocker, or buy a lunar cluster from ebay!

I'd go to a reputable ford tuner vs a dealership.

Mike at Madenterprise is a great help for the swap.

I was going to use the stock cluster. My issue is that i am in a small college town that doesn't have any tuners, just a couple mechanic shops and a ford dealer. I would have to travel a ways to find someone.

Fill out your profile so we know where you are and what you are working with.

In Stock cluster do you mean the stock F150 or the stock lightning?

once again: you cannot run the lightning ECM with your 4r70 transmission

you need a custom tune for the N/A ECM to make it run right

I have a 01 lightning that I totaled and am in the process of putting everything from it into my 02 supercrew 2wd. I have already swapped rearends and attempted to swap clusters but would not start went into theft mode will need to do that after I swap motor and trans and ecu. Makes it alot easier having whole truck to pick from. Will have complete truck minus parts swap for sell when done. It needs drivers side rear frame rail from front spring perch back including spring and a bed, bumper rear spring perch to be fixed comes with salvage title.

so you didn't have the "new" cluster re programmed to the VIN of the "new" truck
