Hello all I thought that it was about time to get some directions and times set up. Below are the events and information that should be helpful for this weekend.
Ok here is an idea for Friday night we can all meet up at the Cracker Barrel just north of Denton at 6:30 . We will leave the Cracker Barrell about 6:45, this will allow us to show up in grand fashion as a group. The Cracker Barrel is located at located Exit #469 Hwy. 380 off of IH35 (I have place the Address below).
Cracker Barrel http://www.crackerbarrel.com/loc_store_directory.asp
I-35, Exit #469
I-35 & U.S.
4008 North I-35
Denton, TX 76202-3406
If you can't make it to the meeting point at the Cracker Barrel at 6:30 here is how to get to the Track on Friday. The Track is just five miles north of Denton on Interstate Highway 35. While traveling north on I-35 from Denton just at Love's Truck Stop, take exit 473 to the northbound service road. After 3/4 mile, the northbound service road loops under I-35 and is directed southward. The entrance to the track is the first right after crossing under the freeway. Once you enter the private road to the track the I-35 Dragway will be on your right.
Ok for the Saturday Mod Party. I was thinking of getting started about 11:00 pending on how late we all stay up the night before. Here is how to get to my house in Carrollton. From I-35E you will take the Sandy Lake/ Whitlock exit. You will head East (That is a right if you are your were heading north on 35). You will follow it for a while and Whitlock will turn into Keller Springs. The next turn you will take is a left on Willowgate heading North. Take the third street to your right.
That is Winterlake. Follow it to the stop sign at Summertree. You are facing my house. We have a bunch of hedges at the side walk and I'm sure that there will be many a Ford Truck around. My Fathers (BlackHawk) house is just down the street so we may be there as well. Here are the addresses.
My street number
2768 Summertree
BlackHawk's street number
2732 Summertree
If you need to get hold of me here are my numbers:
Work 972 685 4095
Home 972 418 8560
Pager 1 800 29 9531
We should be at one of these two houses. If you do not get an answer at the door go around back and you will find us in the Garage.
Let me know if there is anything else that could be of help.
Hope to see you at one of the events.
Moonshine, sorry to hear you can't make it. We will be around all day Saturday, give me a page and find out were we are when you are on your way. We may head to one of the local Sonics and take it over in the evening time.
A tornado passed over Irving this morning. Is the racing at Denton still on ? Weather still looks bad...

It looks like the weather as far as rain is gone. Not sure if the track is going to be running or not. I need to call them but don't have a number. Sixpipes do you have a number and if so are they running??

7. NORTH TEXAS DRAGWAY
Track: Eighth-mile asphalt and concrete drag strip, which opened in June 1996. The track was built and is operated by Deborah and Hank Weil.
Location: Denton
Directions: North of Denton on I-35. Exit 474, with track on the east side of the I-35.
Racing season: Drag races held year-round, weather permitting.
Weekly racing: Time trials are held from 7 p.m. to midnight Fridays and 6 p.m. to midnight Saturdays. On Sundays, the track is open from noon to 6 p.m., with eliminations for junior dragsters and index racing. 940-482-6989.
New in '98: Hank Weil says the track is still very much of a work in progress, with rains keeping him from developing the track as he would like. He's already widened part of the return road and built a longer shut-down area. His next goal is to asphalt the entire pit area.

Tonight's program at Denton has been rained out. I'll check with Ennis and see if it will be opened.
Just called Ennis and they will be making a decision by 4:30.
