To Everyone:
As a proud owner of a '93 Toyota MR2, even though it's a non-turbo, I'd like to apologize to everyone for having to be subjected to this kind of nonsense.
I KNOW my 135hp ain't gonna win anything against anyone. I just enjoy the ride. It's currently my commuter car to Austin (~60 mi one-way). Anyhow, I just wish people would accept the fact that they have what they have and not try to sell it as anything else. I COULD make it look fast, but what's the point? I'd rather spend the $$$ MAKING it faster via turbocharger or whatever, or buying an L, which is what I did.
Once again, please accept my deepest apologies.
Thank you.

When i first went on that site i thought it was a site for those import trash cans.what a surprise!!!! i cant beleive someone would go thru all the aggrevation of building a site just to put down import trash! i would like to shake his hand. they even had a show on tnn about the latest craze in imports . we must put an end to this. let them race those trash cans over the border, into the ocean, and thru the woods to grandmothers house.

Fellow Lightning bretheren...If someone owns another brand of transportation and a Lightning ... that is cool. I myself have 3 "rice burners" in my drive way also. I find it a little ironic when we get a little crazy about an ideal of the American muscle we own "Lightning". Before we go off the deep end in this American pie machine, we should look at where Ford had the parts made and assembled in Canada. Try to be a little more tolerant of others cause Ford markets Mazdas with the name Ford on them. From first hand experience, I had a Ford E-150 Starcraft conversion van that had a Mazda 4 Auto OD trans. Lets not show our ignorance thinking our Lightnings are 100% USA manufactured and built.
Hey! Guys
I don't believe you guys are really putting down another form of Automotive Expression. You know that the Truck scene was the butt of jokes for many years. I guess I just can't help it because I have been a "car nut" all my life. So I like them all- Stock,Antique,StreetRods,LowRiders,Prostreet and even the Rice Burner look. Look under my album at http://www.zing.com
under the name mikedebike (yea, I was into bikes too). Here is a real treat for you and brought to you by the creator of your beloved Lightning. Do you think that maybe they know something.
You want to talk decals well look at the number of them on this "babe".Hey! go to Zing and count them.

Masterloggie and others:
A point well taken, I think. My Bolt was assembled in Canada and I would assume has a lot of Canadian parts and certainly total Canadian labor. Since I spent two years in a job in Toronto, I have absolute faith in Canadian auto workers. As well, I love their attitude regarding weekend drinking bouts. Really cool.,
As regards Rice Rockets, again, I have absolute respect for the engineering and quality built into those vehiceles. Darn near bulletproof, and some of our American vehicles are not.
The Cult thing with coffee can exhausts and wild graphics may not be something that we more traditional street rodders think is "cool" but then again, I have many customers in my HobbyTown USA store with rings in both appropriate places and places I don't think are appropriate who drive these vehicles and they are as enthusiastic about their rice rockets as we are about our more traditional "American" vehicles.
As well, as posted here as well as on other boards, some of them can smoke a Lightning, a Cobra or a TransAm/Camaro if properly driven.
Do I like them, no, would I buy one, no, but do I respect them as an engineering concept and as a prospective competitor, absolutely yes!!!

Your Back!!!!!!!
Gotta love it. I am still looking for some "Back Off" mud flaps for my white Bolt.
got a good source?
As I am soon to install the Bassani exhaust, I might also be interested in a "stack" system to route the exhaust up the sides of the cab a la the Dodge "Lil Red Express" or whatever it was called. Any ideas?

ok, maybee i was a little harsh, i dont mind foriegn cars, i actually think most of them are much better built than domestic.as a used car dealer i see foriegn cars last and are alot more trouble free than domestic. they also hold there value a hell of a lot better than domestic. i just dont care for the "decal craze" and the imposters.these cars due deserve respect. but race cars? i just cant stomach it, something that sounds like a supercharged weedwacker? but maybe cause im old school.

I can understand all your responses, I for one find that site very funny. It's just that all those Civics, that put fart cans on with stickers & lower it, then go out into the world & think they have a fast car. Those are the cars I detest! No I think the cars themselves are great, as a matter of-fact I will probably be looking for a Civic-dx as a daily beater. Its just that they were made to be ECONOMY cars, not racers like the young kids think. anyways glad you guys liked it.
Oh Man! I thought this was going to be another depressing Monday morning! Until I followed that link! LMAO, my sides hurt, my vision blurred from tears - Whew!! That hate mail still has me rollin'. People in the area around me are poking their heads in asking if I am O.K., THANKS, Yoda! I needed that.
