Question PBGas any Lightnings at the Plant?

PBGas I hate to bug you, but Job 1 has so much varying info that all of us need to know. Did you get a chance to drive by the plant this weekend? Is the lot filled with L's? Please give us the answer we are all looking for.

Oohhh....Please let one of those reds be mine.
GreenBean left me and the Skeeter on the side of the road this weekend. As of right now...she's dead at the mechanics (after a 50mile tow), and I'm left with nothing to drive. I need some good news about right now.

PBGas thanks for the reply, keep us posted. I guess at this point we are asking you not to see if there are any L's, but rather to confirm what wmcd has seen!!

wmcd,

My heart rate just went through the roof!!!! I was the 2nd on the list at my dealer to order and it happens to be red. Much appreciate the info.

I ordered my red Lightning on 1/12/00. I called the dealer today. He said he doesn't believe it, but according to Ford, my L will be in on 2/18/00. Based on what you have said, it may really happen.

Hey Peter....

I would have gone by this weekend, but we had a pretty bad snowstorm up here!!!! I will get by one night this week for sure and post!!!! I have to wait until some of the snow melts from the trucks that are out there so that I can tell the difference....they are buried pretty deep right now!!!! (although it is pretty hard not to spot an L in the bunch!!!!)

The Lightnings aren't stored with the regular F150's...they are stored behind the plant. You can see them driving down Royal Windsor (I think that's the name of the road)but not going on the QEW and instead driving around the back of the plant. There were about 15 sitting back there on Friday. Mostly Red's but a few whites.

Wayne.....they must have moved them, cause I didn't see them yesterday (which is good news for those waiting!).....Thx for the update. I didn't see any yesterday, but with all of the snow...who knows now!

I will try and get a couple of pictures on Saturday if it clears up!

Cool

I spoke to my girlfriends uncle last night. He works in Maintenance at the Ont Truck Plant. He said that because of the weather we have been getting lately they are starting to store the Lightnings inside until they are ready to be transported. He also heard that a lot of the Lightnings are being taken to Dealers in closed trailers and trains but couldn't confirm it. Has anyone else heard this?

I hope you're right about the L's being in a closed trailer. A long-a$$ train of nothing but closed in cars full of trucks (could't tell anything other than that, but hell, it never hurts to hope) passed through campus today (Texas A&M) headed south towards Houston. Maybe mine was on it...it's been a long time since I ordered on August 16. I'll have to call Tommie Vaughn later. I'll keep you posted.

Hello All....

I will be heading over to the Ford Plant tomorrow to see if I can snap a few shots or see if anything is even there. Even though the plant is huge...there isn't much room at all inside for storage. This is why they have the huge outside storage yard! The inside connection that I have does the quality control for the Lightning seats. He basically checks most of the interior for obvious defects as well. He tells me that they are shipped just as the regular trucks are. On open carriers or by rail cars.

I will have an update on the weekend. Seeing that I didn't see the ones that were by Royal Windsor Drive (behind the plant) they may have been already shipped which would be GREAT!

Paul
