Angry The findings of my OP POS motor

Here is a list of missing parts and stuff done wrong. The list keeps getting bigger. This is what I have so far. Will update the more I know

The oil slinger that goes on the crank behind the rear main seal(missing)

Rear main was a mess

The crank has several deep grooves in it

Oil was a light browish green color

Kind of like the milkshake color when coolant mixes with oil

The springs look stock, but not 100% sure on that

Used block ( paid for a new one)

Lower end has main bolts, not studs

Header gaskets were all leaking

Wrong header gasket used(was not a Ford gasket)

Header bolts stripped in heads

Nuts and bolts in wrong places

Here is more stuff found today:

The timing cover is broken

Midplate between the motor and trans was mangled, and the converter studs were hitting it

Heads were supposed to have mild porting. Intake & Exhaust were untouched.

Here is a good one: All the spark plugs were seized in the heads

Dam... thats why 2 things will happen when i do my engine.
1. Sal will build it.
or
2. I will build it.

you would think you spend all that money for a new high performance engine that you would trust it would be done right. there goes another customers trust out the fricken window.. some vendors shouldnt be called vendors at all, they should be call thieves... i know you will be taken care of with our tuner.. i seen your truck the last few times i was at the shop. i dont want to mention our tuners name because at the time our tuner wanted it to be hush hush, unless something changed since i last talked to him.. good luck to you pal, hope your on the road soon..

Andy, with the many problems you had with that engine from the start. I thought that a few things were done wrong. But, not a hack job like that.

Hopefully, this thread will put an end to Tommy's engine building career.

The oil slinger that goes on the crank behind the rear main seal(missing)
Rear main was a mess

The oil slinger and rear main seal, I had paid good money to have replaced (over $600) If you have aproblem with that you need to contact the company you brought it to.

The crank has several deep grooves in it

The crank grooves I can't explain but the place where you took it to to repair the rear main seal should have put a sleve on it.

Oil was a light browish green color
Kind of like the milkshake color when coolant mixes with oil

Don't want to get in to that but sounds like you have a head gasket problem.

The springs look stock, but not 100% sure on that

Springs are CompCams behives

Used block ( paid for a new one)

This was discused when getting a new block was hard to do.

Lower end has main bolts, not studs

?? This one I am confused on. I always build with head and main studs. The side bolts are new OEM streth to yeld.

Header gaskets were all leaking
Wrong header gasket used(was not a Ford gasket)
Header bolts stripped in heads

Not sure about the three mentioned above. I know you had said that the shop had to take extra time to remove and replace the header(s) when doing the rear main seal.

Nuts and bolts in wrong places

This is also one that I do not understand as I know where all the nuts and bolts go (I could look at them in a pile and tell you where they go).

The timing cover is broken

????

Midplate between the motor and trans was mangled, and the converter studs were hitting it

Again I will go back to the people that did the rear main seal repair. They removed the trans and put it back, I was not the last person to take it apart.

Heads were supposed to have mild porting. Intake & Exhaust were untouched.

Heads had a 3 angle valve job and larger valves installed.

I did not post this to start a war but to post my side of the story. If we can keep this civl I will entertain any questions on any findings.
