He is not happy anymore, Blew his "STOCK" tranny and a head gasket that night.
Not a slight on Tommy or the guy. Just what happened.
And yes tommy was right. The guy is running a 300 shot and does not purge. He also likes to run his truck hot. I mean sitting there running for 10 minutes with the hood closed HOT.
Not the way I do things but it was not my truck and the guy seemed very nice and not too worried about what happened.

I'm sure since Tommy is back he will comment on that...
There still are a few people around here that have been here for a long long time..

Well I am glad you brought this thread back from the dead.
I do not have to defend myself at this point but will say I have always installed exactly what was agreed upon. Some will believe some will not but I can say that I have never said I was going to put something in and not done so.
I'm just a nobody with no interest in this one way or the other but I think thats what all the anti-you post's are about,.......that is you trying to put it in........ to your customers.

I didn't realize Tommy was still in business until I saw his recent post on this thread. I am on my 3rd OP built motor. 1st blew up on a rented dyno where he was doing the tuning. He said a vacuum hose came off and caused the motor to go. I'm no engine builder just a guy who likes to go fast so I'm not sure of his claim. He cut me a break on the 2nd one (discounted the cost a little). The second one blew up at atco after it ran out of oil with about 800 miles on it. I was partly to blame for not checking the oil but it never crossed my mind since it was so new. I should have found another builder at this point but he is an extreemly nice guy. He towed it from the track and put in motor number three. I thought he would have admitted some blame at this point but didn't. Now the 3rd motor makes nice power but burns a quart of oil every 500 miles. I bought it back to him and he said everything is fine. It is scheduled to be torn down at JDM next month.......Live and learn I guess. The whole thing cost me way too much money so I now go fast with a mustang at the track while the truck sits in the garage. One positive note I may be the only guy on his soon to be fourth motor and the truck only has 12,000 miles on it. FYI the harley guy uses a different tuner now, same guy who does my mustang work.

very informative post,,,,,thanks
As an outsider looking in, meaning not a customer or customer of a competitor. If whoever T/L is was at all concerned about his business this thread would not exist. Business absolutely basic 101, make the customer happy. Problems happen, it's a fact of life. How you deal with them will determine how long you stay in business.
As for the customers that are/were affected, if you haven't already why haven't you pursued legal action?

I know the orginal poster considered it, but costly to pursue 1000 miles away.
