I don't remember if it was truck trend or
sport truck mag, but one of them weighed the
Lightning. i think ford advertises a little
over 4700 pds. the magazine measured a little
over 4300. maybe someone has article and
could post the exact numbers. perhaps ford
was providing numbers based two burly 200
pounders. I kind of thought ford's advertised
weight was high. my 97 f150 x-cab was only
4400 and change.

I do alot of computer work for an asphalt construction company here.. I'll throw my L on the scales tomorrow if I get a chance. They're accurate to 20 pounds..

* Kenwood 80 watt *2 amp

* Viper 550 Alarm w/ remort start
* 98 Yamaha Banshee w/ Toomey T5 Chrome pipes often found in the bed..

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

The last time I weighed the Black Beast at the track, she tipped in at 4765 lbs. w/goodies, tools, and a 1/2 tank of gas.

does that empty weight 4300+PDS sound right
to you ? i don't know how much your goodies
and tools weigh. perhaps the magazine
wasn't accurate.

Lightning Freak,

I think 4300 lbs would be a bit optimistic. All of my add ons combined come to less than 300 lbs, including tools.

Cool

Hey what did they forget to put on my L. Because mine only tips the scale at 4378#, that is with the gas gauge at 1/8th. This is me out of the truck (185) 4563 with me.

Well the tow truck guy tried to pick my Lightning up from the rear, and couldn't. He said
"The regular F150's are no prob., but this one has the supercharger, and it weighs 800 pounds by itself!"
Yes he said that, it was all I could do to keep from laughing, and I did not want to walk 300 miles to Anchorage.
