To me I just can't see how going WOT on what's sold as a "performance" vehicle could be classified as "beating on it". Line locks/donuts/going sideways spinning the wheels 'all the time'.....I consider that beating on it.
Beating on it is out of the question. I treat that truck with a lot of respect. I do agree however, that stomping the gas is a necessary evil that must be done. It would be nice if I had more of an opportunity to do so, but I just can't do that in traffic.......or should I say.....won't do that in traffic.

I lay on the pedal when ever I feel like it! No burnouts or smoking up the tires unless I'm at the track. I drive the L like it was meant to be driven.

Depends on the conditions. Lately there have been a LOT of slow *** bastards on the streets. To the point where I want to push them out of the way. I try to give it a decent WOT blast atleast once everytime it is out of the garage. I find I beat on the Avalanche more then the Lightning though. I always hammer down on that thing. HaHa. I think the 8.1L needs a set of heads and a cam. -Mat-

7,500 miles on my truck, and now you've got me thinking "how many of those were in the burnout box"? I should probably check my rear brakes since I don't have a line lock yet it's hard for me to stay out of it at least once every time I drive her. it's like crack cocaine.

I'm about the opposite from you guys. When I do drive it on the street I very seldom go WOT.

However, there is one particular intersection I'll go 1/2 throttle on every once in a while. Just to bark them on the 1-2 shift.

I imagine for your almost 700hp monster its tougher. lol.

I do it everytime I get on the highway. lol... up to a good 80-100mph then coast back down to 70.
