Hey guys,

I wanted to ask you all about the price you paid for your 2000 L's. I only found MSRP, and some who want more. Then on top of that, TT&L bumped it up $3000 over that. Is this what everyone paid for, or is that the price I have to pay for living in Houston? I do have to tell you all that I looked at a 99.5 Black L at my closest dealer and they were asking $29,900. That was with 13K miles. These things sure hold their value, that or the dealer is going to screw the next buyer. Again, are the prices different all over the nation, or is everyone paying $34000 total?

I paid list price for mine here in Orlando, although one dealer was taking bids on a couple of them.

My wife works for Ford so with her discount my price is $27500.00 out the door. I don't know what non discount buyers are paying around Detroit, but it would be interesting to find out.

On my '99, I paid list when I gave the deposit. 2 weeks before delivery I got a "Lease Loyalty Bonus" check from Ford for $1,500 which they used and when verifying that I could use that one, came up with a Ga. Ford Dealers special bonus discount for a further $1,000.

My dealer had an allocation of 7 '99's and about 15 bonafide orders. I was at the dealers yesterday and talked to my salesman and he said they had only sold 1/2 of their 2000 allocation of 12. So they are still available in the Atlanta area.

In the Boston Herald today,there was a 99 brand new lightning lists for $30600.selling for $26600. Red with Tonneau.The dealer was 128 ford in Reading Ma.I don't know what it costs for shipping but for all you people having a hard time finding one this could be a great deal.

Nate, I understand what you're going thru. When I was looking to order my '00, I looked in San Antonio - all accounted for, Austin - MSRP or $3k over, Dallas - MSRP or more, and Houston - $3-5k over MSRP. Everywhere else in TX was the same: MSRP or above.

I ended up ordering from a dealer in AL for $2847 under MSRP plus TT&L for TX w/o the tonneau. I'm driving it back (~800mi) so add airfare, a hotel for a night, meals, and gas. Unfortunately, I get a much better deal than anything in TX.

Off the subject, I got my Bburago diecast today, and it looks sweet! There are some minor defects to it from shipping and Bburago, but they're not enough for me to send it back and wait again. Next comes the paint job!

 

i live here in the north east. i have been to the 128 ford. these are the same people that sold these trucks for up to $5000.00 over sticker.i bet the people who paid that arent to happy with the dealership. i also think that is an awesome price for a brand new truck, i cant believe its not sold already!!!.i paid 27995 but i was one of three who paid this much. the other 4 that they got sold for sticker. this was the only dealer around me that sold just for sticker, most sold 1-2k over sticker!!funny how prices on these trucks vary so much.

I ordered my 2000 Lightning from an autobroker and the vehicle order confirmation sheet supplied to me shows delivery price of $27,348 plus TT&L. This price includes the trailer tow package and 6 disc CD changer. In addition I paid him $500 commission and aasked for a special drop shippment to a local Ford deler for $200. Total delivered price w/o TT&L is $28,048.

I live in Arizona and ordered a 00 for full MSRP and feel fortunate to have done that. I called numerous dealers in Arizona and even went through 3 dealers from the dealer net programs. Nobody except the dealer I ordered from was willing to sell for MSRP, and most said they were pretty much booked on the orders. I looked at a 99 at a local dealer w/225 miles and they wanted $5K over MSRP, they would not budge a penny, few days later it was sold. Another dealer had a new 99 and wanted $37K, I told him he was nuts, again they wouldn't budge a penny, 2 days later it was sold.

My best suggestion is to let me call Gene in the morning and explain that you might want to buy a 2K Lightning and get his price idea.

I live in Dearborn Heights, order my truck in Redford, 28.5K all options, no discount of any kind. In metro Detroit, there are alot of SVT dealers, and this is more a "seasonal" vehicle, so they have to play ball.
