Just ordered my 2000 l today!! Cant wait till feb. New to this site but a long time fan of speed! I guess you guys have been doing alot of research for hp gains on these babys. So is anyone making a chip to increase the boost on these trucks yet?
Granted the truck is supercharged and has an intercooler to reduce the intake temp what do you guys think the potential is for this motor? With a compression ratio of about 9:1 15lbs should be possible with a high octane race fuel and retarding the timing. Personally I think Ill be sprayin this thing from the begining...100hp. Well I look forward to chatin with all of you !!

Actually, the boost can't be controlled by a chip, you're thinking of turbos. The supercharger is driven by the rotation of the crank, so increases in boost are only possible by mechanical means (Blower, crank pulley, or higher engine RPM) or by reducing the the intake restrictions ahead and behind the SC.

I agree with yoda, but you will need more than a day to read the info you desire. Go back at least 6 monthd and read up. You will need to take a nap along the way.

 

My 2000 order price was 28.5K. Don't know if I will take it when it comes in. I'm saving for a house and an engagement ring, so this would make things tight.

 

OK dont take this personally 2000silvr .lets think about this.the house i can almost understand.well at least until i drove mine i couldnt give it up for anything.but the ring????ok this could be a mistake! i know your probaly in love and all and you think without her you couldnt live but lets face reallity here.ive seen this a thousand times. this is how it goes in order :

1.you give up a new lightning for a ring for your girl

2.once she has the ring everything is great but you still wish you had the lightning.(fact)

3.she meets a new guy, breaks off the wedding for a guy who HAS a lightning.

4.you suddenly start seeing clearly ,why did i give up the truck of my dreams for a girl? what was i thinking? i feel so stupid! now i dont have a girl or a lightning!!!!

5.you realize your mistake and now all you have is a ring back that is worth 30% of what you paid and all the dealers are out of lightnings.

6.never give up what you want for a woman , cause when shes gone you will have less than what you started.

7. things could get worse. you buy the lightning, then you get married , then your woman leaves you for a new man, then she takes half of all your s@#! that you worked so hard for, then you see her new boyfiend driving your old lightning!!!!!!!!

these are my rules for survival! sounds funny but ive seen it happen more than once!!!

buy your lightning and enjoy it if you get rid of anything sell your woman. lol lol

 

You have to understand that BADASSSVT, who is my new friend, lives in New Hampshire where things are just a little bit different.

It is a harsh and cold place, sort of like Minnesota but not so big, and men and women play the game really hard. Much like Minnesota, trucks are a necessary part of life and many a bar fight has taken place in arguments about which truck is the best and I have seen many northern women jump into the fights to support their choice and their man. Also saw some where they jumped in on the other guys side because they liked his truck better. The best fights were when the two guys ladies got into it about the best truck and all of us just watched.
