Nothing is wrong with a canned tune if you know its safe via a dyno run. Just not the best way to tune a car/truck because it can be off a little or a lot. It's basicly a guess tune, usually safe but always risky.

LFP, that has to be one of the best civil responses to bashing I have heard yet!
I applaud you and the products I have purchased from you!

God Bless,

As no two engines are "exactly alike" - and even if the equipment and/or mod's are the same, the engines won't repond exactly the same way, so there is always a bit of a risk (and you can't really quantify what the risk will be) with any so called "canned tunes" - "canned" just in the respect that they are not done on a dyno, where the individual engine variabilities can be found and taken into account. And some guys in the past have had bad results, and because of these inherent engine varabilities it's better to get "tuned" on a dyno with a capable "tuner," but I've also had three canned tunes over the years from JDM that performed well with no problems. From what I've seen in the past couple of years, as "tuners" have learned more about the Lightning engine and transmisison etc. - what works, what doesn't - the so called "canned tunes" today are pretty sophisticated compared to those 4-5 years ago where there was a bit more "guess-work" involved.

I've dealt with Mark in the past and found him a stand-up guy and he always delivered everything he promised! And I'm sure that the tunes Mark has installed on the SCT's he markets, are done by competent capable people with good knowlege and experience - and if it turns out something isn't quite right with one - Mark will work with you to ensure your satifaction.

There is a lot more to this story( or so I am told).........., but I bet by saying Knockoff, those in the racing circle know what that means............... and Mark you are no SCT tuner.........no matter how you try to say it........If Andre is Tuning, than he is the tuner and you are part of his team........not the other way around.

Put the names in whatever order makes you feel good and be happy!
Andre is part of LFP's team. We custom tune, we dyno-tune. Mix it however trips your trigger.

Distribution Worldwide;Custom Design & Fabrication;Without a Dyno we Currently Custom Tune SCT Xcalibrator Tuners (Not Canned Tunes) at Hennesey Motorsports (Call for your Appointment). We are also in the process of Designing and Custom Machining Throttle Bodies at Hennesey's request for the Hemi. Other projects in the works and we will be relaesing information as release dates approach.

Opps, my bad.........thought he said he was a custom tuner........Nothing to say about him Vending........but tuning .........thats another story. BTW I guess Hennesey lost that Dyno at the shop

Knockout - I'm trying to figure out exactly what your beef is with LFP. He sells the Xcal, he puts in his own tunes (be it through Andre or whoever), and can provide a dyno for custom tuning a truck right there in front of your eyes (at Hennesey Motorsports or wherever).

So is your complaint that he doesn't personally sit down at his own dyno and do all this? I'm willing to bet that JDM, JLP, and others also delegate some of their work to other individuals/vendors on occasion. What's the damn difference if the end result is the same? It looks like you're griping just to hear yourself gripe. If you don't like LFP, don't send him your money.

As any business grows thing get delegated. LFP offers many product. I have many persons incorporated in the business. Contracted from CA. to N.Y. One example is our 58" torque arm traction bars. I don't personally cut and weld our brackets, hangers, bars, I don't powder coat them, I don't turn the bushings on a lathe. I have people in position to take care of these projects. These kits alone have product coming in from 5 sources.
There is no reason to explain every facet of the business no more than any other vender would or should. Feel free to shop wherever and be happy!

SRTthis,

That's nice you didn't take credit.

mark products like the traction bars and such are diffrent. no one expects them to be made in house. no one expects JLP to make his in house. but they do expect a JLP tune to be made in house on a dyno by johnny not sue. thats where its diffrent.

My, my, my such nit picking. KIRST8404 you will do well with LFP, JDM, PSP, etc, etc. The big difference between tuners is availibility, how accessable they are, how quick do they respond to your needs and or questions.
I haven't been doing electronic tuning for long, maybe 1.5 years. But I have been tuning cars since I was 16 years old. (58)
The one thing I have learned since being involved with Ford Lightnings (1999) and getting them tuned, is service.

The one thing I would say is don't let people without any merit get you confussed. If you notice most post bashers, tuner bashers, etc don't even give their real names, locations, or contact info. I have always said, if you have a problem with someone take it to them off the public forums. Why, because it makes you look like a idiot as you see here.

I would suggest that if you are involved with a dyno tuning session with JDM, don't waste your time with anything else, get it done right and wait for that dyno/tuning day. Save money.

That's not necessarily true. Before JLP, PSP had their shops ( remember ). They offered up " custom tuning ". More than likely using another shops dyno. That was fine with me and other venders in business and still is ok if they hadn't built their shops.
I didn't come on the forum to debate what some may or may not think a custom tune is. The whole thread is a joke.
If LFP purchases ExCal2 and says Andre is part of our team and we access a 3rd party dyno and will custom tune your vehicle then you as a consumer can call and take us up on that offer or decide to go another direction. You are free to choose and you are free to draw any conclusion you like. We are all entitled to our opinion BUT your opinion isn't fact, it's an opinion.
LFP, JLP, PSP, JDM, REM, LP, Amazon etc....feel free to call and get what you want where you want.
