Line Lock help

I am going to buy a Hurst Line Lock. I prefer not to buy one from a Vendor, cause to me $200 for a $100 item plus 3.00 in fittings and a brake line is ridiculous.

Anybody know what sizes(Brake Line, Fittings etc..)I need to buy to get this to work??

Thanks.

I wish someone had a write up on it.

Oh and if someone says it can't be done this way, I say BS, cause I know of 3 people that have done it, but they don't know the sizes they bought. Just trying to save some time.

There's a reason the kits cost $200. You'll find it out trying to do it yourself.

Here's a hint- the fittings you need don't exsist.

The fittings DO exist, I just had to use two adapter fittings instead of the one fitting that Sal had made.
I did the whole thing for about $110.00.
you can get a steel braided line from any number of places, then make the mounting bracket out of aluminum. Then just take the line, and solenoid in to any place that sells LOTS of automotive fittings and let them figure it out.

The only difference between the kit I made and the kit everyone else sells is that I had to use two fittings instead of one.

My point exactly. As far as the bracket goes, I can do that myself at work with stainless. Found ZB Zilla's post on this

It can be done for $107, of course the HUrst is a little more $$ than what he bought, but still the same.

QKSILVR, my apologies if I came off abrupt in my first response. I get people all the time call because they bought the Hurst roll control, then had no idea how to make it work. They want to buy the "rest" of the parts in our kit thinking they will save a bundle. I sell it for $75. The custom made fittings, the machine cut aluminum bracket, the stainless hardware, etc, etc...it all adds up. I also pay "retail" pricing for the Hurst line lock itself, as they won't dealer them unless you buy a hundred zillion. I barely make $20 on a line lock kit, so I get a little perturbed when people think it's just "a roll control and a few fittings".

Apologies are not needed, but accepted.

I know you run a business. I just like to do things myself when I can. I try to save some $$ when I can that's all. If the people I know didn't piece theirs themselves, I would have bought one of yours. So blame there big mouths.

Yeah, I made it easier by cutting the stock brake line and removed the stock fitting, then slid on one of the fittings that came with the LL and flared the brake line back again. That way I didnt need the conversion fitting.
But....some people might not want to modify their stock brake line like I did.

I have access to a hydraulic shop and could have ordered the solinoid, built a small aluminum bracket and took the time to "make it myself and no cost"...... since Sal already has a kit that is reasonably priced I didnt bother.

If you have time .. do it yourself, and throw the money you save on the money pile of frugality.

If time is valuable to you, you only have to invest 15 minutes from the time you open the box until your removing rubber from the rear tires.....order it.

WELL WORTH the money to buy the kit.
If you happen to have access to the available parts, why not do-it-yourself
