I dont know of any vendors selling a kit that omits hot engine air. Wonder why Kenne Bell dosent make a CAI kit? Surely he can fabricate one of his own liking. One that dosent void his warranty

Our Kit does not allow any engine heat in the mesh lid once you hit around 50 mph..Have you ever put your hand out the window @ 50+ mph? There is sooo much air blowing up the tube its blowing the air up thru the top mesh lid! However at the request of Jim Bell we have decided to offer a Closed Lid for those who would like to have it..The new lids will be ready in 2 weeks! JL

I am not bashing you John. I have your kit on my truck. Im just saying how KB is so screwy. When Nick backed him in the corner over his multiple blower seizing parties, all Jim could say was he had the incorrect CAI. Saying that Jim basically called your air kit incorrect.

"2 weeks"

Good choice of words JL!!!
BTW Johnny is there room in the frnder to hook a second hose on the forced air kit? I found another scoop that has 2 inlets and thought I could maybe hook both up.

any box that draws the air from the fender well OR has a tube going to it from underneath. Something that will give the engine fresh air.

I'm a believer in a decent air box for heat/fan wash issues, but everybody seems to think of the under hood area as being a sealed up box that just gets hotter and hotter as the engine runs; that's not true. As soon as you start moving the under hood air moves out from under the truck, and fresh air is pulled into the truck via the grill/how open the front is.

When you stop it gets hotter, but soon as you start moving it's gonna cool down pretty fast.

it will still be well above ambient. with a sealed box and some fresh air ducting you can get pretty close to ambient.
