Thanks, Bill. I'll give em a call and take a look-see. Still no delivery date on the Red one from Al Serra. Got a call last month on a white one that came available at Gene Evans and a black one at John Bleakly. I'll try and call you at work on Thurs.

Truck was still there at 5:00

I think the Black one is worth considering.

Tell them sticker price and no more. This one has all three mandatory options, ie, CD player, Towing Package and the Bed cover. If I were not so stuck on my thing about the "White Lightning" vis a vis the moonshiner thing, I probably would have gone for a Black Lightning. On the other hand, that could have social implications in Atlanta. No?

Bomeyer,
I called SVT about the locking lugs, he was unaware that the brochure said that it came with them. The reason they didn't put them on was that they had to use Expedition lugs and they stuck out too far. He did say that if we were to look for some to get them for an Expedition and not an F-150 because of the way they seat on the wheels.

Actually, White trucks are faster.
This has to do with certain laws of physics and a phenomon called coefficient of friction.

As the ambient temperature rises, black trucks, and even red ones, tend to expand ever so slightly due to their higher heat absorption. White trucks, on the other hand, tend to reflect heat and therefore do not grow.

Thus, White trucks are faster because they have a superior coefficient of friction compared to the red and black ones.

Of course, this advantage is lessened in hours of darkness, which is why I never ever race at night.

How's that for spin doctoring my way out of a bad line in an earlier posting.

PFA:

Didn't mean to be flip with my uh-oh.
How is your tranny working now?

Vehicles are too complicated nowadays, but in the dino era, it would be low fluid, burned fluid due to heat, a leak either externally or internally not allowing trannie oil to flow properly.

I really hope you got it sorted out. That is a major headache type of owie on a new vehicle, particularly ours.

Bill Murray,
The tranny has only done it to me a couple of times since. I'm going out of town on July 13, so I set an appointment to get some things checked out (tranny, clunk in left front, power lag after shifts and dropping power around 3800rpm, piston slap...am I forgetting any thing??). They'll have it for the week so I hope they can get everything done!

I liked the doctoring you did with our color! But remember, ours has that glowing effect at night which in turn gives us an additional power advantage.

Just got back from a 2,000+ mile trip from Denton, Tx. to Charlotte, NC. with a 650lb. motorcycle in the back. The thing really rides smooth with no bottoming or problems noted. Tie down cleats work great. Fuel consumption was about 16mpg @ 70mph average. I noticed a front-end "clunk" backing out the drive this morning so I'll take it in next week. Sweeeeet truck!

GP - I have a Honda Valkyrie thus sixpipes. There's a guy that posted who also has a Valkyrie (surely not the TBR supercharged Odin). I just got back from the Honda Hoot in Asheville. Loads of fun, but the weather didn't hold up so I left early. The Lightning really turned some heads especially with the bike tied down in the back. A picture of my bike can be seen on the Valkyrie's Lair webb site. I've changed a few things since the picture (the wife is not one of them). The picture is listed under "customs".
