SRT-10 Quad Cab - A Ride And A Spanking
SRT-10 Quad Cab - A Ride And A Spanking
Went to the local hangout and there were 2 guys there with SRT-10 Quad cabs. Both guys were cool and I got a chance to take a closer look at the SRT-10, without a sales rep in tow...
We talk for a while and then I got a chance to ride with one of the SRT-10 guys. Well, unknown to me, his buddy wanted to ride in a Lightning, so Art-Man offers to take him for a spin as well. (After we had already pulled out for my "test ride".)
Down the road a bit, we do a U-turn to head back when Art-Man pulls along side us. The guy driving the SRT I'm riding in yells to Art-Man "You wanna try it?" and, of course, Art-Man said "Sure !!".
(The guy I was riding with had been telling me that he knew the Lightning would get him off the line, but after 70 MPH he would "fly right by"...)
We were rolling about 15 MPH when the SRT guy nailed it. Art-Man responded by punching his Lightning, which promptly pulled ahead by 1 1/2 lengths. When Art-Man went into 2nd gear, he added another 2 lengths and then steadily pulled on him until both let off, around 100 MPH or so. At the end, he had 6 or 7 lengths on the SRT-10.
Needless to say, Mr. SRT-10 was impressed with Art-Man's L.
I will say this - the SRT-10 QC is quick and would definitely hold it's own against a stock L.
But, after seeing what they cost (this guy paid $48K for his) and hearing him say how he gets 8-10 MPG, I thnk I will just stick with my L.
Also, no matter what, nothing sounds better than a L at full blower whine !!
Good kill, Art-Man !!!

Thats a pretty good kill, but I think the SRT-10 owner shouldnt hang his head to low. What mods does Art-man have? And a quad cab is a *little* slower then then the regular cab version correct? I think this could be compared to an L losing to a viper. At least he hung in there, kinda.

I'm guessing a chip, filter, 4# or 6# pulley, and maybe exhaust or something
