Darn Belltech Drop Spindles

Well I received my drop spindles yesterday. I started my install about noon today and everything was going fine. I got everything removed, re-installed my stock springs, put the new spindle on, was hooking everything back up when I noticed that the steering link was now rubbing my hotchkis sway bar. I was like well what the f&%^, hoping it would clear at ride height. So, I pressed on. Finished up, went to put my stock 02' wheel back on and the bottom ball joint stud was rubbing. Now in the install instructions it says that the stud will have to be trimmed only leaving a 1/16 in. sticking out past the castle nut. Well that didn't work so I ground it down some more, almost to the point where I reached the cotter pin hole and it still rubs. So, I don't know what to do. Can't afford bigger wheels right now but that's not the point. I guess I'll have to call Belltech Monday morning.

Think I figured out the castle nut problem. In their installation instructions it shows a slim nut not a castle nut but it wasn't supplied. So, hopefully when I call tomorrow they will confirm this and I can go buy a slim nut and get that taken care of. But then there is still the issue of the steering link being very close to the sway bar. If I could flip it upside down there might be enough room but the hole is tapered the wrong direction.

Roush used to recognize the F150 community, and then they stopped.........

And we have the last of them.

The effects of this kit include:
All around drop.
Impecable handeling.
And after you install it, your we@Nr grows 3" !!!!

Wow, I might need two kits, then... Or, maybe I'll offer to do the installs for others, as Andy seems to indicate that the installation is the key.
Hmm, maybe that's why the guys working at truck shops get all the girls. LOL

As much as I love my ROUSH suspension, it does create bumpsteer. The spingles or some other change are what are needed to fix it!

Keep us updated, I'd like to get these puppies to.

Tim - You running Helwig or Hotchkis sways? I forget...you going to get the spindles?

Back to the dropped spindles.
I am real dissapointed that there are problems. I was hoping to get a set I too have the hotchkis anti sways and am concerned about them not clearing.
If there is any way to get some pics that would really help us chickens waiting to find out what happens before we jump in the pool with you.

Belltech told me that they have already done a bunch of Lightnings. Where do you have an issue with clearance with the sway bars?

If you went with shorter end links, you should go back to the stock length when the spindles are used.

I'm using the endlinks that came with the hotchkis sway bar kit. Don't know if they're shorter than stock, I sold my stock sway bar long ago, but they clear fine with the eibach springs. Besides the steering link is now at an upward angle instead of being leave.

this sucks. Please let us know. I was all set to get them powder coated after a few suggestions here and don't want to spend the extra cash if they are not going to work. Wonder is the stock sways will have this issue too?
