Thanks for the info
That's what I was wondering too. Would a c-notch be the only option for the rear? If it is, then I guess that the Roush route would suit me better.

The c-notch has nothing to do with how you lower the rear, only how much you lower it.

I'm at a 3-4" drop. I had to grind down the lip on the frame rail and use really thin bump stops to keep from bottoming. Keep the drop less than 4" (on an 02 anyway, more room to drop on 03/04) and you should be fine.

Thanks Tim I had no idea that a c-notch was for how much I droped the rear, not how to drop.

Tim don't make me your special project please. Maybe I should have written something like, If I use spindles for the front will I need to do a C-notch to get the correct stance. Is that better Tim?

Tim, what are you using to drop the rear end to get 4" without using hangers? Are there any issues with the panhard bar then? Sorry for the
hijack. Thanks.

The panhard bar will work with a 4" drop. Not sure if you go lower.

This has been discussed exhaustively before. Anything more than a 2" shackle and you will have a really loose rear end. I call that the sail boat effect. To do it properly, you need to replace the front hangers to adjust the desired drop.

Yes, that would have been much better. I cannot read your mind, only your words.

My reply was a genuine response to your post. If I were just taking a shot at you, I would not have bothered to write the second paragraph.

2" shackles and Hotchkis leafs.

When you go that low, the bed crossbrace just above the diff mount must be clearanced with a ball peen hammer or a saw to allow full vertical travel of the axle. Other than that, it's fine.

Is there any updated info on these lowering spindles? This is the route I want to take in order to maintain the stock ride quality!
What Is the "Summit" referred to- Summit Racing? Anyone have a link?

It's the tendency of a vehicle to change directions (i.e., steer) when the vehicle goes over a bump. It is caused by misalignment of the steering and suspension arm pickup points.
