Suspension tips?
I've been riding a Belltech 3/4 drop with Nitro shocks for about two years now. Ride quality didn't seem all that bad to me. A few months later, I added some Cal-tracs. Except for the constant squeaking caused by the installation, I can't remember having any poorer ride quality. I've just recently been reunited with my truck after 6 months, and seem to be very alert to all kinds of ride problems. On smooth roads, there are of course, no issues, smooth as butter. At highway speeds, the truck sometimes gets floaty, like a Caddy, and bottoms out. On rough roads, like cobblestone, the truck feels and sounds like it's about to drop every single bolt, and just tear itself apart! At any kind of speed over roads like this, and it doesn't feel planted to the ground.
So, any suggestions? Maybe start by removing the Cal-tracs? New shocks, or a different set up altogether? Still want a drop though, and am willing to buy another set up. About 20k on the current shocks. TIA!

Very hard to diagnose, Gene. Could be either too much spring/shock or not enough.
Given your shock choice, though, I would suspect the latter. An uncontrolled suspension will feel floaty and jittery because you are loosing contact with the pavement. Too much spring or shock will cause the tires to not handle the rough stuff well. On my truck, the rear starts crawling out in turns on rough roads -- from too much shock and spring. But your truck could also crawl around on the same turn because your worn out shocks are not controlling the wheel hop.
I would start with new shocks. Leave the CalTraks on for now and see if that does it.

Tim's on the right track. Sounds like the shocks are toast. New they are marginal at best. Also check your rear spings to make sure they haven't sagged and now riding on the stops. My money is on the shocks.
Thanks All for the replies and suggestions. Especially you Tim; all things considered, didn't expect to hear from you.
That's about as close to an olive branch as I can come

If so, it is long forgotten. No olive brach needed from my perspective.
