Almost 3 extra pounds of boost

OK a while back I helped a buddy out in porting out his Eaton SC.. I am think I did a great job because the whine when up and also 20 rwhp and 15 rwtq.

But ever since we ported the blower he been getting mad belt slip so today he put on the Aux. Idler Pulley Kit and now his boost gauge is showing close to 3 extra pounds of boost. From 12 to almost 15 at the shift. All he has is a 4 lower.

Last time after the port he had it dyno and the A/F ratio was around 12.3 across all the way.

Do you guys think he will need a new tune after the sudden extra boost. I was with him testing it out today... no signs of pinging or nothing..

We will be hitting the dyno tommorow to see if goes up from last time

You probably just had a dirty air filter.

I consistently read 10-11 PISG on a $180 Auto Meter electronic boost gauge and a stock engine.

but now its reading almost 15 at the shift.
Mine does the same thing w/just a 4# lower. It used to jump to about 11ish then climb another 1psi all the way to redline. Now it jumps to about 11-12 and steadily climbs to 14-16 depending on outside temps. I've even seen 17 twice.

ok just got back from the dyno... temp was 10 degrees hotter than last time it was dynoed.

No extra mods have been added just the Aux. Idler Pulley Kit from LFP.

6 rwhp and 12 rwtq gain from last time.

So I think I can port one mean SC. I didn't take pictures of the end results but it sure wasn't a nice sight to see. I made version of the Frankstien Port Job.

Over all my port job yelled 25 rwhp and 27 rwtq and about 3 extra pounds of boost and this on 90 degree weather.

It the A/R went from 12.3 to about 12.75 at the shift so a new costum tune is on order to correct that.

It was a JLP 4#. Granted, this was in 55* air as well... plus in StL we're pretty close to sea level I also was running no factory cats, just 2 CarSound hi-flows and the Magnaflow cat-back.
