i'm assuming you mean a tonneau. i use meguiar's "natural shine vinyl and rubber protectant". it has NO silicone!!!!! this is great stuff, not expensive, can get it almost everywhere.

Is the silicone bad for the bed cover? What about Armour All and products like it, are they bad for it?

I use 303 aerospace, and it works awesome on the tonneau. Not greasy and leaves no film. Excellent on tires and vinyl dash parts too as it gives a nice deep tone and is not shiny unless you apply more than one coat. It also has lasting power through rains.

Cool, I'll have to try one of those products for my factory tonneau.

Sorta on topic, it regarding the factory tonneau. Do you guys use the bars that lifts the center of the cover (make it bow in the center)? I was wondering if anyone has run without them for a while. If so, does it cause the center to sag over time?

I'm not too keen on the look of the big humps that these bars create.

Steve,
I am with you on that look...I have never had the bars installed on my cover and it has not started sagging, then again I don't leave it outside either.

You could bend the bars down a little bit to get rid of the "humps." I did it by accident one night when I had a few too many and passed out up there. HaHa. I have since bent mine back up though. -Mat-

You can generally buy it at any business that deals with RV’s, as it is widely used with RV’ers to keep their tires in good condition when they sit for long periods of time.

As far as not having the support bars for the tonneau it shouldn’t be a problem unless it rains. If it rains it would puddle in the middle and put a lot of weight on the cover. I don’t know if that would damage it from stretching it or not.
