I feel if I could do my own dial in I would have went several rounds.
I hear what your saying casey, but then it would just be another bracket race.

The part about setting your dial in is part of the challenge. If you know how your truck runs...weather changes and such will not hurt you. You just change the truck to meet the condition.

Your suggestion is a perfect example of the lack of respect for the TT class. There is skill involved in running 3 qualifiers and intentionally setting your number. It is the driver making the truck run a number, instead of the truck telling the driver what number to run.

Thats what Test and tune is for .... If you take away the brackets then it becomes a wallet contest ... Who ever has the biggest wallet wins....

Since you want to take this to a smart a$$ level, let me tell you what I see from your posts. I see a feller who doesn't have a clue as to how to make his vehicle hit a number, so he wants to see rule changes to make up for his stupidity.

I get that your saying, YOU, feel like it would increase the fun factor. But now you should think about how proud you where...and are that you could land that close to a number you had to achieve the "hard way".

It isn't that hard to run a few test runs in the morning and then just pick the number you will run in the next pass. Doing it the way it's done in TT makes it a little tougher to do right.

Way to go on hitting your dial, I have alot of respect for the fellers that do that in the TT class. But only because of the method you had to use to get the dial number. Simple, choose your number, brackets are not as hard to hit the number.

That is my point...it is part of the game in TT. Change the rule and it is a different game. It becomes simple bracket racing.

I had aleady typed my response before you added the waxing part...LOL...but I decide to leave it as is........ I probably won't be making it to California any time soon, so you'll have to come this way to get your but handed to you... .

No...your still a smart a$$. .......it was my way of pointing out how much more of an accomplishment it is to intentionally set your dial by running that number in qualifications rather than just yanking it out of your a$$ an hour after making a pass.

I will be at Norwalk that weekend...running another round or two in TT...LOL.

Dealerjim, not that I want to call ya out on the info you just shared, but it makes it look a bit like something it's not.
No offense taken. I just didn't want to write a book.
First, we where not happy about the lease truck situation, but Jim D. came in and made it more than right. So the lease truck became a non-issue. Let's get real here, what is better, a 2 year 24k bull***** lease, that has to be given back after 2 years...or a 13k motor install that you get to call your own.
I was kind of shocked when Jim offered the motor due to the events prior to the awards banquet. It just goes to show how much JDM cares about the T/T racers. I think it's BS that Jim had to be the one to come out of pocket for something Ford & FFW screwed up. Hats off to Jim and team JDM for going above and beyond.
As to the emotions flying....it was actually only one feller...and I won't get into that.
I can understand the frustration caused by the FFW ruling but things got a little out of hand before the banquet. Ultimately, Paul G. was really hurt by some uncalled for accusations. I have a feeling that's one of the reasons Paul hasn't been following the circuit this year.
As to the issue of points racers. I can only think of 3 fellers who are not in it. Paul G....who is only making the closer events this year because he told me he needed a break from it for a bit. He has been at it for quite awhile now. Jamie....he told me his issue was real simple...financial, it costs a small fortune to chase this thing around the country. JR...who is the soarce of more problems than I could ever explain here...and is really not wanted or missed.
It is definitely expensive to attend these races. I can't remember the last race I attended where I didn't spend between $800-$1000. Amen on the JR quote.
One thing you said that I do agree with, FFW is bad about showing little respect for the class. I think the problem stems from the contempt we get as Pee-Cup truck racers from the whole darned racing community. I find the same lack of respect at many different events at tracks all over the country. They always make comments about how fast our trucks can go, but stop short of calling us racers. We are similar to Rodeo clowns, nice entertainment in between the real programs.
I've seen races where there were only 3 or 4 Pro cars and the last few FFW's have only had 2 or 3 cars show up for Drag Radial yet they still get respect. The truck class consistently has 20+ trucks and we are made to feel like they could care less if we were even there. Oh well, what can ya do?
