please be advised...

Put the bars on as Jonny explained them to be in the correct position.

I had mine on backwards also. (the directions are not that clear).
I used to scrape everything with the front brackets. (Belltech 2" drop). Since switching front brackets to the correct position, I haven't bottomed out on anything.

It is a big deal. Trust me... the first time you bottom out you'll wish you took the time to switch them if you have them installed backwards. there's no worse sound than steel connected to your frame scraping pavement.

The angled cut on the front brackets should face towards the front of the truck.

It only takes about an hour to switch them if they are wrong. No extra time if you are installing them for the first time.

No way mine can bottom out, the truck isn't low. Couldn't stand it any longer, since the truck was on my hoist for exhaust mods I grabbed the air wrenches and swapped them around to the correct way. Took 17 minutes, and the holes line up fine if anyone else wants to do it.

Steve, we can swap yours Thursday if you come by.

Are you at or close to stock height>??? I have an 01' with 2" shackles and FRPP front springs. I get a lot of scraping on bigger speed bumps if I don't attack them right and pulling into some parking lots/driveways. The sound and feel is HORRIBLE! I have the original front brackets, not the new design. -Mat-

3" shackles in the rear (2" drop), stock up front. Never scraped anything, and I don't have to slow down for speed bumps.

Well...I went down to the shop and looked again and sure enough, I have two of the same brackets

Johnny can you send me another bracket??

The left side is correct, so I need another right side bracket.

Its kinda strange, I installed the left side first.....then it was about 3-4 days before I installed the other side....so I never noticed. Normally I would have completed it in the same day and would have caught the fluke.

Damn I'm good. Hope you get it straightened out. I am thinking on trying to order the new style front brackets. I don't think I will have to drill any new holes. Should be able to just swap but I just don't know 100% -Mat-

I swapped mine around. Holes don't line up perfectly, but if you loosen the rear brackets, it will give you enough play to move the whole assembly. Once all the bolts are in loose, you can begin snugging everything down. I was worried about the same thing.

Of course, do one side at a time.
