No I am not complaining about the mileage in my truck I am averaging about 14 mpg in the city. I get between 230-250 miles before I have to refill my truck.

The thing is that when the gauge hows empty my tank only takes 17 gallons to full, however ford says that it is a 25 gallon tank. Is it that I have 7 gallons left it the tank?

How much gallons does it normally take to fill your tanks? Or do I have a freaky L. I am just curious that's all.

 

a bit over 20 usually. The light comes on at about 21 or 22 gallons.

 

I believe that I read in the manual that it comes on with 4 gallons left. And that seems to hold true with what I have found.

When my truck is on E, it'll hold 20 gallons.

 

Don't know if it's the same tank but my HD takes exactly 20 gallons when the needle is just above the E before the light comes on.

 

I went to the gas station again this morning. The low fuel light was on and it took 17.8 Gallons to full. Cost me US$80.00.

But it's all worth it

My light went on as I was setting at a stop light this morning. There just happen to be a Standard station across the street so I whipped her in and filled it up. When the pump went off "first click" it read 20.636 @$ 57.35 so 21gal for the light seems pretty close.

 

I thought it said 22.5 in the manual? maybe just mine?
