"Low Fuel"

Hey about how many miles will a Lightning get after the "Low Fuel" light has come one.

Lets just say i'm in one of those situations where all the gas stations are closed and I need to be somewhere tommorow before they open.

Thanks,
Jon

Like forever. I heard that there is two gallons or more left, but guages are notoriously unreliable, so yours might be 1/2 gallon. How many gallons do you use to fill up when the light is on?

I would like to know the answer to this too.

I've put 5 tanks thru the truck so far and it breaks down like this:
50 miles it comes off the F
150 mile I'm at 1/2 of a tank.
I have always filled up when it got down to 1/4... It drinks the gas so fast I'm afraid not to. But when I do fill up, I have between 6-9 gallons left in there! I run about 225-250 miles before I fill up.

I let my tank get as low as it has ever been this past week. I kept looking for that little gas pump light to light up but it never did. When I filled up it took 21 gallons.

low fuel

I think Vinnie actually tested this once and said about 35-40 miles.

My light usually comes on on the way back from the track

Mine takes 22.5 gallons when the light comes on. I put 24.9 gallons in once after running 40 miles (carefully) after it came on.

This is fun: Hold your trip/odo button in while you start the engine, then keep holding it in a few seconds until you see 'TEST' on the odometer. Then punch the button several times and it will toggle through a systems test, RPMs, MPH, etc. until you get to FUEL. You'll have a digital reading of the fuel level. I think mine reads ~280 when full and ~45 when the light comes on.

When my truck is on "E", I can put in 20 gallons of gas.. And since we have 25 gallon tanks, i always thought we had 5 gallons left after "E".
