I Touched the new Adrenalin

Sorry no pics. Did not realize we left the camera in the car until we were on the ferry. You all have seen it anyway.

Also touched the new Cobra. Went to the NYC car show today. They had them on turnstyles but they were close enough to touch and get a good look.

It is VERY apparent from the guy speaking on the turnstyle that this is the NEW Lightning as far as Ford is concerned.

It was Lightning people wanted 4 doors and Lightning people wanted all wheel drive (so we are not wasting time on those silly burnouts). Lightning people wanted this and that and here it is in the new Adrenalin.

Overall I like it alot.

some things that were apparent that were not going to show up on the production truck.
-No door handles.
-Too Low (you can see were they cut out some of the front fenderwell)
-The exhaust tips were made out of billet.
-Doubt if it will have 21 inch billet wheels.
-No bumper at all

You could easily take out the rear seats , put a cage(W/O going through the rear windows), nitrous bottle or two and subs. Then a little rear window tint and BAM a true race sleeper/show truck.

As for the Cobra . Ford will sell every one they make no problem. There will be a line out the door. A 5.4, 4-valve built motor w/ a S/C on top for $40,000 while Cheby had the Z06 for $70,000.

While I share your enthusiasm, I doubt highly anyone will get their hands on a new Cobra for $40,000. I can't imagine what the dealerships are gonna mark those bad boys up to.

The car is beautiful as we saw in person today and im sure there will be a huge mark up when they first arrive at the dealers but they wont be able to keep them at that price for too long and keep up with the vettes from a selling point. Give it 6 months and they will be at the $40k range - I hope

I agree with you for the first model year of the new Cobra. But after that they will be sitting on dealer lots collecting dust and being sold for X-plan. The market for perf. cars is shrinking as gas prices increase.

I completely agree and it is a shame. Everyone bitches about the markets but they do it to themselves. IF YOU PAY THE MARK-UP THEY WILL KEEP ON DOING IT! Let them sit on the damn cars. You are a MORON if you pay sticker price too. We do it to ourselves, well I don't but a lot of people do and it is sad. Why isn't pride worth more then trying to have the first one on the block(which isn't gonna happen anyway). -Mat-

It was Lightning people wanted 4 doorsHUh?? since when di we ask for 4 doors? If we wanted a quick a$$ truck, why would we want 4 doors? and Lightning people wanted all wheel drive (so we are not wasting time on those silly burnouts). Ok maybe all wheel drive would be nice, but come on 4 doors? Give me a break.

Well hopefully Ford isn't dangling the carrot like they did with the Lightning prototype. I like it but I think they should also offer it in a single cab configuration and get rid of the huge wheels.

I think its pretty cool myself. Course it will come stock with 20 inch rims. Or we will change right away. We have sooo many sticky tires in 20's now.

I wonder how much abuse they put the AWD setup through? Are we gonna smash it launching on slicks repeatidly?

"Lightning owners like stuff that dosent break" hope they picked up on that too.
