JDM 3.3 vs. PSP turbo vs. JLP frame mods.
It is my understanding that......
JDM is working on an adapter kit for the monster Whipple 3.3 twinscrew.
PSP is working on a single turbo adapter kit.
JLP is sticking with the Kenne Bell 2.3 twinscrew adapter kit and has focused on front and rear, frame/suspension modifications.
These efforts represent three (3) different approaches to obtaining faster E.T.s with the lightning forced induction system.
Are we going to see the results of all three (3) approaches in 2005?

Not sure if they'll all be done this year, but I'd bet on who makes the most power! Tough to beat a good turbo setup, although that may or may not transfer into the best e.t.'s....... that remains to be seen.

It used to be that when you were at the track and you heard that familiar blower whine screaming down the 1/4, everyone would run to the fence and see who it was, but nowadays you dont get that excited unless its one of the big boys up there going for a number, because 12 and 11 sec L's are just so common now.
I give major props to anyone, not just the big three, that thinks outside the box and does things to make their L run faster than ever before, so what if its tubbed or notched or chopped or runs a blower that is non existant, I'll still run to the fence when I know someone is going for a new national best for a GenII and I'll run to the fence when I hear that familiar 351 thunder coming to kick GenII a$$ Right Ralph?

If Sal and Jim show up at LightningFest this year, it will be VERY interesting. We are in the process of taking the turbo approach.........and so are a few others. There will be alot of very fast Lightnings there this year...........and yes, we still sponsor the heads-class.

hmmm
I think JL might have the most advantage with the weight reduction and those HUGE rear tires.
You could argue that it's not a real lightning any more......or yes it is. It's still cool as hell>

JDMs 3.3 will be the only one. Dustin told me on the phone, it would be 6 months before their backorders would be caught up enough to have one ready for the lightning. So in reality its more like 2006.

Chop your top, take out a million pounds. Have some fancy suspension, have 8 links for all I care. It all boils down to what I CAN use in my STREET driven truck to go FAST. I don't care who does it, but I am impressed with the guy making the power and pushing a REAL truck down the track. Even if they may not be the fastest. Just the way I feel. Exactly why I race my truck the way I do.
Best of luck to all this year. Even with my above comments it is still cool as hell to see some big numbers get thrown up.

I love to Watch the Big 3 Put up Big Numbers. That's what I'm about. I already have a Street Lightning that runs 11's at Full weight that I can Drive to California if I want to. 12 Second & 11 Second Lightnings are Normal trucks at the Track now a Days. Anything that Runs 10's or Better gets me Excited!
I Love to Go Fast just like many of You. I am going to Start building my new Motor & (T-101) Turbo Combo for Next Year. If all goes as planned I will be approaching the 7's.

These posts are hillarious. What the hell does street driven mean any more? Somebody PLEASE point out the line in the sand that differentiates the two. I see everyone making jabs (both directly and indirectly) at JL for turning his truck into a seriously fast tubed and tubbed monster, but others say its ok to throw a new motor, aftermarket blowers, roll cages, and every other mod known to man in their truck. Is that realisitic to most? Is that a practical daily driver? How many of those people have daily drivers other than their truck because of breakage fears? How many peole tow their trucks to races? Many of the criticizers of JL's beast are the same ones who have many thousands into their own trucks. To me, that mod list is as far away as JL's. I'm a real user of the truck and will never see either list of mods(by choice)- WHO CARES!!!! I don't care of the damn truck is solar powered with a sail, any fast truck will give me a rise in the knickers. You all get my thumbs up.
You staunch JDM supporters should take a step back from your loyaylties and be excited about others' achievements. I don't question your reasons as to why you are pro-JDM, but do question why every one else doesn't do it right in your eyes...

Good luck to the Big Three, may you all have a great and quick year.
I have owned a Prostreet car before, nothing like having huge tires to get you rolling. My hat is off to all of you..
